Spiker's Turf seasons

The 2018 Spikers' Turf season was the third season of the men's volleyball league Spikers' Turf, which began on October 6, 2018, with only one conference. It is the first season as a stand-alone league since 2017 as they are re-established as a separate entity from its women's counterpart league, the Premier Volleyball League. [1]

Open Conference

The 2018 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference is the revival conference of the Spikers' Turf. After the 2016 season of the Spikers' Turf, its affiliate league, the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), assumed the tournaments of the Spikers' Turf under its men's division until the collegiate conference of year 2018. The tournament began on October 6, 2018 [2] at the Blue Eagle Gym, Ateneo de Manila University campus, Quezon City, Philippines. [3]

Final round

The number 1 seeded Sta. Elena-NU pulled out of the conference after advancing in the semi-finals to represent the Philippines in the 2018 ASEAN University Games in Myanmar. Cignal HD Spikers and Philippine Air Force Aguilas will play a one-game knockout match to determine the team that will face the PLDT Home Power Hitters in the finals. PLDT has twice-to-beat advantage in the finals. [4]

The PLDT Home Fibr Hitters, or the PLDT Volleyball Club is a former professional men's volleyball team owned by PLDT. It was established in 2013 and originally consisted of men's and women's teams. In 2018, the women's team became merged with the Smart Giga Hitters. The men's team has been playing in the Spikers' Turf since October 2018.
