The 2018 Tata Open Maharashtra was a men's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts that was part of the World Tour 250 series of the 2018 ATP World Tour. It was the 23rd edition of the only ATP tournament played in India and took place in Pune, India, from 1 January through 6 January 2018. It was the first edition of the tournament to be held after it was moved from Chennai to Pune. Unseeded Gilles Simon won the singles title.

Two-time defending champion Rafael Nadal defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final, 6–2, 6–1 to win the singles tennis title at the 2018 Barcelona Open. With the win, Nadal retained the ATP no. 1 singles ranking. It was Nadal's record-extending eleventh Barcelona Open title and his 20th ATP 500 title overall, equaling Roger Federer's record. It was Tsitsipas' maiden ATP Tour final.

Nadal saved a championship point en route to his record-extending 12th Barcelona Open title and 61st ATP Tour singles title on clay. It became the second tournament at which Nadal had earned 12 or more victories, after the French Open. At three hours and 38 minutes, the final match was at the time the longest best-of-three-set tour-level final ever recorded since the ATP began tracking statistics in 1991, until the 2023 Cincinnati Masters final. Tsitsipas, who had also lost to Nadal in his first career ATP singles final at this tournament in 2018, was in contention to win his first ATP 500 tournament title on his seventh attempt.

Alexander Zverev defeated Andrey Rublev in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2021 Cincinnati Masters. It was his fifth Masters 1000 title and 17th career singles title on the ATP Tour.

Carlos Alcaraz defeated Casper Ruud in the final, 7–5, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2022 Miami Open. It was his first Masters 1000 title, and he became the first Spaniard to win the title. The victory also made Alcaraz, at 18 years and 333 days old, the youngest men's singles titlist in Miami Open history, and the youngest Masters 1000 champion since Rafael Nadal at the 2005 Monte Carlo Masters. Ruud became the first Norwegian to reach a Masters 1000 final, and the first Scandinavian since Robin Söderling at the 2010 Paris Masters.

Borna Ćorić defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final, 7–6(7–0), 6–2 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2022 Cincinnati Masters. It was his first Masters 1000 title, and his first title overall since the 2018 Halle Open. Ranked No. 152 in the world and using a protected ranking for entry, Ćorić became the lowest ranked player to win a Masters event since the series' inception in 1990. He defeated five seeded players en route to the title.
