The 2019 South American Cricket Championship was a cricket tournament that took place in Lima, Peru from 3 to 6 October 2019. [1] [2] This was the second edition of the women's South American Cricket Championship in which matches were eligible for Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) status, since the ICC granted T20I status to matches between all of its Members. [3] Brazil were the defending champions from the 2018 edition. [4]
The five participating teams were the national sides of Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico. [5] Brazil retained their title by winning all four of their matches in the round-robin stage and then defeating Argentina by 4 wickets in the final. [6] [7]

The Chile national cricket team is the team that represents Chile in international cricket. The team is organised by the Chilean Cricket Association, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001 and an associate member in 2017. However, the national side had debuted as early as 1893, when it played Argentina in Santiago. Chile began playing regular international matches in the early 1920s, and, with the exception of a gap during World War II, has continued to do so since then. Until the team affiliated to the ICC, its opponents were almost all other South American teams. It first participated in an ICC tournament in 2006, when it fielded a team in division three of the 2006 ICC Americas Championship. In the South American Championships, which began in 1995, Chile has participated in every edition, but won only twice, in 2011 & 2016.
The Sri Lanka women's cricket team toured the West Indies to play the West Indies women's cricket team during October 2017. The tour consisted of three Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and three Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is). The WODI games were part of the 2017–20 ICC Women's Championship. West Indies won both the WODI and the WT20I series 3–0.
The Bangladesh women's cricket team played South Africa women's cricket team in May 2018. The tour consisted of five Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and three Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is). Prior to the tour, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) named a preliminary squad of thirty players.
The Sri Lanka women's cricket team played the South Africa women's cricket team in February 2019. The tour consisted of three Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs), which formed part of the 2017–20 ICC Women's Championship, and three Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches. South Africa Women won the WT20I series 3–0. South Africa Women's captain Dane van Niekerk was ruled out of the last two WODI matches due to an injury, with Suné Luus leading the team in her place. South Africa Women also won the WODI series 3–0.
The 2019 ICC Women's Qualifier Asia was a cricket tournament that was held in Thailand in February 2019. The matches were played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with the top team progressing to both the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier and the 2021 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournaments. The fixtures took place at the Terdthai Cricket Ground and the Asian Institute of Technology Ground in Bangkok.
The 2018 South American Women's Cricket Championship was held in Colombia from 23 to 26 August. The four teams that participated this year were the women's sides of Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru. This was the first time in the tournament's history that the matches were recognized as official WT20I games as the ICC granted WT20I status to all matches played between the associate teams from 1 July 2018. All participating teams made their WT20I debuts during the tournament. All matches were played on two fields of the Los Pinos Polo Club in Mosquera, near Bogotá. Brazil won the tournament by registering a comprehensive win over Chile in the final.
The 2019 France Women's T20I Quadrangular Series was a women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket tournament held in Nantes, France, from 31 July to 3 August. The participants were the women's national sides of France, Austria, Jersey and Norway. Matches in the series were recognised as official WT20I games as per ICC's announcement that full WT20I status would apply to all the matches played between women's teams of associate members after 1 July 2018. Jersey Women were the only side of the four to have previously played a WT20I. The matches were played at the Cricket Ground, Parc du Grand Blottereau in Nantes. France won the tournament after winning 5 of their 6 matches.

The England women's cricket team played the New Zealand women's cricket team in February–March 2012. The tour consisted of five Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20I) followed by three Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs). Ahead of the WT20I fixtures, England Women played 3 warm-up matches against New Zealand Emerging Players Women team, with all three matches taking place in Lincoln.
The South Africa women's cricket team toured India to play against the India women's cricket team in September and October 2019. The tour consisted of three Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and six Women's Twenty20 International (WT20) matches. The WODI matches were not part of the 2017–20 ICC Women's Championship.
The India women's cricket team played the West Indies women's cricket team in November 2019. The tour consisted of three Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs), which formed part of the 2017–20 ICC Women's Championship, and five Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches. India won the WODI series 2–1. In the WT20I series, India won the first three matches, to take an unassailable lead. India then went on to win the remaining two fixtures, to sweep the series 5–0.
The Belize women's cricket team toured Costa Rica in December 2019 to play a six-match bilateral Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) series. The venue for all of the matches was the Los Reyes Polo Club in Guácima. These were the first WT20I matches for Belize since the ICC's announcement that full WT20I status would apply to all the matches played between women's teams of associate members after 1 July 2018. Belize won the series 5–1.
The Kenya women's cricket team toured Botswana in December 2019 to play a seven-match Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) series. The venue for all of the matches was the Botswana Cricket Association Oval in Gaborone. Originally the tour was scheduled to be a tri-series, however Namibia withdrew prior to the series. The bilateral series was won 4–1 by Kenya, with two games abandoned due to rain.
The 2018 South American Cricket Championship was a cricket tournament held in Mosquera, Colombia from 23 to 26 September 2018. A men's and women's tournament held, with 2018 being the fifteenth edition of the men's South American Cricket Championship and the seventh edition of the women's event. For the first time, women's matches played at the South American Cricket Championship were granted Twenty20 International (T20I) status after the ICC granted Twenty20 International (T20I) status to matches between all of its Members; for women's teams starting from 1 July 2018 and for men's teams from 1 January 2019. Argentina were the defending champions from 2017 in both the men's and women's event, but fielded a developmental 'A' team in the men's tournament and did not enter the women's event in 2018.
The 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier was a cricket tournament played in Mexico in October 2021. The matches were played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. Argentina and Brazil competed in an ICC women's event for the first time since 2012. The tournament's fixtures were confirmed in September 2021. The United States won the tournament, winning five of their six matches, and progressed to the Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament.
The 2022 ACC Women's T20 Championship was a women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket tournament that was held in Malaysia from 17 to 25 June 2022. The tournament was organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and the top two sides qualified for the 2022 Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup. The series was the last to be played at the Kinrara Academy Oval before the ground closed on 30 June 2022.
The 2022 Women's T20I Nordic Cup was a women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket tournament that was held in Kolsva, Sweden, from 27 to 29 May 2022. The participants were the women's national sides of Denmark, Norway and the hosts Sweden, with Denmark playing their first official WT20I matches. On the penultimate day of the tournament, Sweden won the Nordic Cup, after they beat Denmark by 71 runs and Norway won their match, also against Denmark, by 34 runs.

This was the twelfth edition of the women's South American Cricket Championship, and the third in which the matches were eligible for WT20I status since the ICC granted Twenty20 International (T20I) status to matches between all of its members.
The 2022 Men's South American Cricket Championship was a cricket tournament that took place in Itaguaí, Brazil from 20 to 23 October 2022. This was the seventeenth edition of the men's South American Cricket Championship, and the second in which matches were eligible for T20I status, since the ICC granted Twenty20 International (T20I) status to matches between all of its members. However, matches played in this edition did not have T20I status.
