The 2019 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup was a series of races in Olympic Cross-Country (XCO), Cross-Country Eliminator (XCE), and Downhill (DHI). Each discipline had an Elite Men and an Elite Women category. There were also under-23 categories in the XCO and junior categories in the DHI. The cross-country series and the downhill series each had seven rounds, some of which are held concurrently.

Previously, Richards had been under-23 cyclo-cross world champion at the 2016 and 2018 World Championships. In 2022, Richards added a first Commonwealth Games gold in cross-country mountain bike to her palmarès.

The 2016 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup was a series of races in two disciplines: Olympic Cross-Country (XCO) and Downhill (DHI). The cross-country series had six rounds and the downhill series had seven rounds.

Mathias Flückiger is a Swiss mountain bike racer. He rode at the cross-country event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and 2020 Summer Olympics, where he won a silver medal. His brother Lukas is also a cyclist. In 2022 he was suspended for doping.

Puck Pieterse is a Dutch cyclist specializing in cyclo-cross and mountain biking. She became the U23 European cyclo-cross champion in 2020, and at age 20, the Elite Women's National Cyclocross Champion of the Netherlands in 2023.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike World Cup is a series of races in Olympic Cross-Country (XCO), Cross-Country Eliminator (XCE), and Downhill (DHI). Each discipline has an Elite Men and an Elite Women category. There are also under-23 categories in the XCO and junior categories in the DHI. The cross-country series has nine rounds and the downhill series eight rounds, some of which are held concurrently.
