The 2019 UT Permian Basin Falcons football team represented the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in the 2019 NCAA Division II football season. They were led by fourth-year head coach Justin Carrigan. The Falcons played their home games at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa, Texas, with one home game played at Grande Communications Stadium in Midland, and were members of the Lone Star Conference (LSC).
The team improved on its 2–9 record from its first three seasons, finishing the 2019 season with an overall record of 4–7. The team went 2–6 in conference play, the program's best up to that point, to finish 7th in the conference.

They were led by second-year head coach Justin Carrigan. The 2021 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs football team represented Louisiana Tech University in the 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Bulldogs played their home games at Joe Aillet Stadium in Ruston, Louisiana, and competed in the West Division of Conference USA (C-USA). They were led by ninth-year head coach Skip Holtz.

The 2016 Texas A&M–Commerce Lions football team represented Texas A&M University–Commerce as a member of the Lone Star Conference (LSC) during the 2016 NCAA Division II football season. Led by fourth-year head coach Colby Carthel, the Lions compiled an overall record of 11–2 with a mark of 8–1 in conference play, winning the LSC title for the third consecutive season. Texas A&M–Commerce advanced to the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs for the fifth time in program history. In the first round, the Lions defeated Colorado Mesa, 34–23, for the program's first playoff win since 1991, but lost to the Grand Valley State, 55–32, in the second round. The Lions were ranked No. 9 in the final AFCA poll.
The 2023 Texas A&M Aggies football team represented Texas A&M University in the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Aggies played their home games at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, and competed in the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They were led by Jimbo Fisher in his sixth year as the team's head coach before his firing on November 12, 2023. Defensive line coach and co-defensive coordinator Elijah Robinson served as the team's interim head coach for the final 2 games of the season.
The 2023 Sam Houston Bearkats football team represented Sam Houston State University in Conference USA during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Bearkats were led by tenth-year head coach K. C. Keeler. They played their home games at Bowers Stadium in Huntsville, Texas. They were ineligible for a bowl game, the conference championship, or the College Football Playoff due to rules governing transitions from FCS to FBS.

On November 28, Carrigan announced that he would be stepping down as the program's head coach. The following day it was announced he would be stepping into an administrative role, being named the university's deputy athletic director.
The 2022 Angelo State Rams football represented Angelo State University as a member of the Lone Star Conference during the 2022 NCAA Division II football season. Led by fifth-year head coach Jeff Girsch, the Rams compiled an overall record of 12–1 with a mark of 9–0 in conference play, winning the LSC title. Angelo State received a first-round bye in the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs and beat Bemidji State in the second round before losing to Colorado Mines in the quarterfinals. Angelo State played home games at the LeGrand Sports Complex in San Angelo, Texas.

The 2022 East Central Tigers football team represented East Central University (ECU) in the 2022 NCAA Division II football season as a member of the Great American Conference (GAC). The Tigers were led by Kris McCullough in his first and only season as head coach. The Tigers finished the season 9–3, going 8–3 in conference play to finish tied for third place in the GAC. This was the best finish in program history since the 1993 season when the Tigers finished 10–3 and won the NAIA Championship. The team played its home games at Koi Ishto Stadium in Ada, Oklahoma.
