The 2019 ICC Women's Qualifier Americas was a cricket tournament that was held in the United States in May 2019. [1] The matches in the tournament were played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with the top team progressing to both the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier and the 2021 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournaments. [2] The United States qualified for both tournaments, after taking an unassailable 2–0 lead, with wins in their first two matches. [3] The United States also won the final match by 36 runs, therefore completing a 3–0 whitewash over Canada. [4] [5] [6]

The qualifier was played as a best of three matches, with the fixtures played in Lauderhill, Florida. [7] The United States named their squad on 1 April 2019, [8] with Canada naming their squad on 9 May 2019. [9]

Claudine Beckford is a Jamaican-born American cricketer. She made her international debut at the 2011 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier representing the United States. Beckford also played domestic cricket matches for Jamaica before moving to the United States. In March 2019, she was named in the United States team for the 2019 ICC Women's Qualifier Americas tournament against Canada. She made her WT20I debut for the United States against Canada in the Americas Qualifier on 17 May 2019.

The 2019 international cricket season was from May 2019 to September 2019. The 2019 Cricket World Cup in England and Wales took place during this time, starting on 30 May 2019. 10 Test matches, 78 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 109 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), as well as 1 Women's Test, 9 Women's One Day Internationals (WODIs) and 130 Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), were played during this period. Additionally, a number of other T20I/WT20I matches were also scheduled to be played in minor series involving associate nations. The season started with India leading the Test cricket rankings, England leading the ODI rankings and Pakistan leading the Twenty20 rankings. On 3 May, the International Cricket Council (ICC) expanded the men's T20I rankings to include all current Full Member and Associate members of the ICC, featuring 80 teams. In the women's rankings, Australia women lead both the WODI and WT20I tables.

Originally scheduled to take place in September 2021, the tournament was postponed in May 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier was a cricket tournament played in Mexico in October 2021. The matches were played as Twenty20 International (T20I) fixtures, with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. Argentina and Brazil competed in an ICC women's event for the first time since 2012. The tournament's fixtures were confirmed in September 2021. The United States won the tournament, winning five of their six matches.
