Loughborough University Public university in Loughborough, UK

Loughborough University is a public research university in the market town of Loughborough, Leicestershire, in the East Midlands of England. It has been a university since 1966, but the institution dates back to 1909, when the then Loughborough Technical Institute began with a focus on skills and knowledge which would be directly applicable in the wider world. The Indian National Badminton Championships is a tournament organized to crown the best badminton players in India since 1934. Until the 1960s, foreign players could compete in the championships. That is why the Dane Erland Kops is in the winners' lists.

Tamsin Greenway England netball international and coach

Tamsin Greenway is a former England netball international. She was a member of the England teams that won bronze medals at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and at the 2011 and 2015 Netball World Cups. Between 2006 and 2018 she played in eight Netball Superleague grand finals for three different teams – Team Bath, Surrey Storm and Wasps. During this time she won five Netball Superleague titles as a player and/or coach and a sixth as a director of netball. Greenway also works as a netball pundit for Sky Sports. In 2020 she was appointed head coach of the Scotland national netball team.

Loughborough Lightning is an English netball team based at Loughborough University. Their senior team plays in the Netball Superleague. In 2005–06 they were founder members of the league. They also enter under-19 and under-21 teams in the National Performance League. Using the name Loughborough Students, Loughborough University also enter teams in intervarsity leagues organised by British Universities and Colleges Sport. Together with the women's cricket team and the women's rugby union team, the netball team is one of three women's sports teams based at Loughborough University that use the Loughborough Lightning name.

Heather Olver English badminton player

Heather Olver is an English badminton player. Her career highlights so far include mixed team and mixed doubles silver at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, European women’s doubles bronze, and reaching the final of the 2013 London Grand Prix Gold and Scottish Open. She also competed at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.

Chloe Birch English badminton player

Chloe Francesca Hannah Birch is an English badminton player. She was introduced to badminton through school and started playing at age eight at Abbeydale Badminton Club. Birch received the Michael Vaughan Award from Silverdale School, and competed at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 2013. She was the runner-up in 2016 English National Badminton Championships Women's singles. Birch was part of the English team that won the mixed team bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast. She won the women's doubles silver medal at the 2019 European Games partnered with Lauren Smith.

Wasps Netball English netball team

Wasps Netball are an English netball team based at the Coventry Building Society Arena in Coventry, Warwickshire. Wasps Netball was formed in 2016 as a partnership with the Premiership Rugby team, Wasps RFC. Since 2017 their senior team has played in the Netball Superleague. They were Superleague champions in 2017 and 2018.

Ben Lane is a badminton player from England and a former national champion in doubles.

Matthew Clare is an English badminton player. He graduated from the Ripon Grammar School, and now educated at the Loughborough University. He won the 2016 U-19 National Junior Championships in the boys' doubles event partnered with Ben Lane. He also the member of the English junior team that won silver medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships. In 2017, he won the mixed doubles title at the Croatian International tournament with Victoria Williams, he also the third place in the men's doubles event with David King.

The 1988 English National Badminton Championships were held in Crawley, from 7-9 February, 1988. The event was sponsored by Carlsberg.

Fee Teng Liew is an English badminton player and a national champion.

The 1991 English National Badminton Championships were held in Torbay, from 22-24 February, 1991. The event was sponsored by Hi-Tec.

The 2001 English National Badminton Championships were held in Burgess Hill, Sussex, from 2–4 February 2001. Julia Mann won her sixth singles title putting her second on the women's singles all-time list behind Gillian Gilks.
