The 2020 Norwegian Women's Cup was the 43rd season of the Norwegian annual knock-out football tournament. It began on 30 September 2020, severely belated due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Norway. Also, the cup was open to clubs in the first two tiers only. The clubs of the 2020 Toppserien entered in the first round, whereas the rest of the clubs in the 2020 1. divisjon contested a preliminary round.

Sportsklubben Brann is a Norwegian professional football club based in Bergen. Founded on 26 September 1908, Brann has been in the Eliteserien, Norway's premier division of football, since 1987, except in 2015 and 2022, when they played in the 1. divisjon. A total of twelve teams contested the league, consisting of ten who competed in the previous season and two promoted from the 1. divisjon. The season ran from 5 April to 11 November 2010, and was won by Stabæk, their first ever title. As champions, they also qualified for the Round of 32 of the 2011-12 UEFA Women's Champions League.

The Lillestrøm–Vålerenga rivalry is a football rivalry in Norway between Lillestrøm SK and Vålerenga Fotball. It has been referred to as the biggest derby match in Norway. Vålerenga are located in the east of the capital of Oslo, while Lillestrøm are located just outside of the capital, in Lillestrøm municipality. Both Lillestrøm and Vålerenga are among the most successful clubs in Norwegian football, having won 11 and 9 titles respectively. They have both played over 1,000 matches in the Norwegian top division.
