The top tier of Norwegian football has existed as a one-league top flight since 1963. The league was renamed Eliteserien for the start of the 2017 season. The following page details the football records and statistics of the Norwegian top flight since 1963.

The 2019 season was Molde's 12th consecutive year in Eliteserien, and their 43rd season in the top flight of Norwegian football. They participated in Eliteserien, winning the title for the 4th time, reached the third round of the Cup and were knocked out of the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League in the playoff round by FK Partizan after entering at the First qualifying round stage. Molde were scheduled to take part in the 2019 Mesterfinalen against Rosenborg, but the match was cancelled 15 March 2019 due to heavy rain.

The 2019 season was Stabæk's sixth season back in the Eliteserien following their relegation in 2012 and their 23rd season in the top flight of Norwegian football. Stabæk finished the season in 8th position and were knocked out of the Norwegian Cup by Viking in the Fourth Round.

The 2020 season was Stabæk's 24th season in the top flight of Norwegian football.

The 2020 season was Brann's fifth season back in Eliteserien since their relegation at the end of the 2014 season.

The 2018 season was Lillestrøm's 43rd consecutive, and final, year in Eliteserien. Lillestrøm finished the season in 14th position, entering the Relegation play-offs where they were defeated on away goals by IK Start after the two-legged affair ended 5-5. In the Norwegian Cup, Lillestrøm reached the Third Round before defeat to Strømmen.

The 2021 season is Molde's 14th consecutive year in Eliteserien, and their 45th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. They will also compete in the Norwegian Cup and Europa League and the Europa Conference League.

The 2022 season was Molde's 15th consecutive year in Eliteserien, and their 46th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. Molde finished the season as Champions of the Eliteserien and the 2021–22 Norwegian Cup, progressed to the Fourth Round of the 2022–23 Norwegian Cup, and were knocked out of the Europa Conference League in the group stage after finishing 3rd behind Djurgårdens and Gent, but ahead of Shamrock Rovers.

The 2023 season is Molde's 16th consecutive year in Eliteserien, and their 47th season in the top flight of Norwegian football.
