On 1 June 2020, 02:15 Central Indonesia Time, a man carrying gasoline torched a police car parked in the South Daha, South Hulu Sungai Regency regional police office and attacked the police stationed there with a katana. [1] [2] During this attack, there were three policemen guarding the office at the early morning. One policeman, Brigadier Leo Nardo Latupapua was killed by the attacker. [3] After the attacker killed Leo, the other two police officers tried to flee & locked themselves in another room asking for help using their phones. [3] The attacker refused to surrender and was shot dead by the police that arrived in the area. While no organization claimed responsibility for the attack, police found that the attacker carried an ISIS flag and a paper containing an ultimatum about the Islamic state & jihad. [4] [5] [6] Later two suspected terrorists belonging to Jamaah Ansharut Daulah were arrested by police. [7]

Ali Ahmad, known popularly as Ali Kalora, was an Indonesian Islamic militant and leader of East Indonesia Mujahideen. He was referred to as Indonesia's most wanted militant leader and was the main target of both Indonesian military and police during Operation Tinombala. He became leader of the militant organization after Abu Wardah was shot and killed in July 2016. He waged an insurgency and committed several attacks against villages around Poso Regency and Parigi Moutong Regency until 18 September 2021, where he was shot and killed by the Madago Raya Operation task force.
The Law on South Kalimantan province, officially Law Number 8 of 2022, is a law passed by the People's Representative Council of Indonesia regarding the existence of the province of South Kalimantan. On 2 May 2023, at around 11:00 Western Indonesia Time (UTC+7), a shooting occurred at the Indonesian Ulema Council headquarters in Central Jakarta, Jakarta, Indonesia. A male assailant attacked Indonesian Ulema Council headquarters with a modified airsoft gun, but it was later revealed that the weapon used by the attacker was an airgun. The assailant reportedly died, while two Indonesian Ulema Council employees were injured.
