The 2020 Tajik Supercup was the 11th Tajik Supercup, an annual Tajik football match played between the winners of the previous season's Tajikistan Higher League and Tajikistan Cup. The match was contested by 2019 League and Cup champions Istiklol, and the league runners-up Khujand. It was held at the Pamir Stadium in Dushanbe on 4 April.

Background

On 27 March, the Tajikistan Football Federation announce that the opening round of games would be played behind closed doors due to the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, [2] with referee Nasrullo Kabirov being confirmed as the match official on 1 April. [1]

Football Club Istiklol is a Tajik professional football club based in Dushanbe. They currently compete in the Tajikistan Higher League, the top flight of Tajik football. The club was founded to commemorate the Independence of Tajikistan. Istiklol in Tajik means the independence in English.

Alisher Lutfulloyevich Dzhalilov is a Tajik professional football player who currently plays for Istiklol. Dzhalilov also holds Russian citizenship and has played for several Russian national youth football teams, including U-21 in 2013.

Nuriddin Nuriddinov Davronov is a Tajik professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Indonesian Liga 1 club Borneo and the Tajikistan national team.

The FC Istiklol 2016 season is Istiklol's eighth Tajik League season. They are the current defending Champions in the Tajik League, Tajik Cup and Tajik Supercup having completed a Domestic Treble during the 2015 season. They will also participate in the AFC Cup for the second time, entering at the group stage.

The 2017 Tajik League is the 26th season of Tajik League, the Tajikistan Football Federation's top division of association football. FC Istiklol are the defending champions, having won the previous season.

The Tajik Super Cup is a one-match football annual competition. The two participating clubs are holders of the Tajik League champions title and the Tajik Cup. If the Tajik League championship and the Tajik Cup are won by the same team, then the other participant is the runner-up of Tajik League. The match is played at the beginning of the season, typically in March.

The 2018 Tajik League is the 27th season of Tajik League, Tajikistan's top division of association football. The season began on 10 March 2018.

The FC Istiklol 2019 season was Istiklol's eleventh Tajik League season. They were defending Tajik League and Cup Champions, whilst also participating in the Tajik Supercup, AFC Champions League and AFC Cup.

The 2019 Tajikistan Higher League was the 28th season of Tajikistan Higher League, Tajikistan's top division of association football. The season will begin on 6 April 2019. and finished on 4 November 2019.

The 2019 Tajik Supercup was the 10th Tajik Supercup, an annual Tajik football match played between the winners of the previous season's Tajik League and Tajik Cup. The match was contested by 2018 League and Cup champions Istiklol, and the league runners-up Khujand. It was held at the Pamir Stadium in Dushanbe on 29 March 2019 with Istiklol winning the match 3–0. Istiklol took the lead through a Ruslan Koryan penalty in the 38th minute, both Koryan got his and Istiklol's second in the 50th minute. Koryan was replaced by Shahrom Samiyev in the 58th minute, with the substitute going on to score the third and final goal of the game in the 90th minute to secure Istiklol their 8th Supercup.

Shahrom Tagoymurodovich Samiev is a Tajik professional football player who currently plays for Dinamo-Auto Tiraspol, on loan from Sheriff Tiraspol.

The FC Istiklol 2020 season is Istiklol's twelfth Tajik League season, of which they are defending Tajik League and Cup Champions, whilst they will also participate in the Tajik Supercup and AFC Champions League.

The 2020 Tajikistan Cup is the 29th edition of the Tajikistan Cup, the knockout football tournament of Tajikistan, with the winner of the cup qualifying for the 2021 AFC Cup.
