Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka defeated Ashleigh Barty and Victoria Azarenka in the final, 7–5, 7–5, to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2019 US Open.

Andrea Sestini Hlaváčková and Barbora Strýcová were the defending champions, but Sestini Hlaváčková did not participate due to maternity leave. Strýcová played alongside Hsieh Su-wei, but lost in the second round to Jeļena Ostapenko and Dayana Yastremska.

Tímea Babos and Kristina Mladenovic won their second Australian Open title, defeating Hsieh Su-wei and Barbora Strýcová in the final, 6–2, 6–1. Despite the loss, Hsieh regained the WTA no. 1 doubles ranking for the first time since 2014, replacing her partner Strýcová.
