Effects of the Covid-19 Pandemic

On August 13, 2020, the Pac-12 Conference postponed all fall sports through the end of the calendar year. [1] [2]

On November 4, 2020, the NCAA approved a plan for college soccer to be played in the spring. [3]

The first tournament was held in 1987 for the Pac-10 conference. It ended after four seasons. The conference did not have a conference tournament until it was started again in 2002.

The 2012 UCLA Bruins men's soccer team played the college's 77th season of organized men's college soccer. 2012 was the team's third full season in the Pac-12 Conference; it had previously played as an independent team. The team won the Pac-12 Conference championship, but fell to the University of San Diego in the NCAA Tournament.

Men's college basketball in the Pac-12 Conference began in 1915 with the formation of the Pacific Coast Conference (PCC). Principal members of the PCC founded the Athletic Association of Western Universities (AAWU) in 1959, and subsequently went by the names Big Five, Big Six, Pacific-8, and Pacific-10, becoming the Pac-12 in 2011. The Pac-12 includes the PCC as part of its history despite the two leagues being formed under separate charters. Competing in the Pac-12 are the Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, California Golden Bears, Colorado Buffaloes, Oregon Ducks, Oregon State Beavers, Stanford Cardinal, UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans, Utah Utes, Washington Huskies, and Washington State Cougars.

The 2014 Oregon State Beavers men's soccer team represented Oregon State University during the 2014 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The Beavers played in the Pac-12 Conference, and earned their first at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament since 2003.

The 2015 Stanford Cardinal men's soccer team represented Stanford University during the 2015 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 43rd season of the university fielding a program.

The 2002 UCLA Bruins men's soccer team represented the University of California, Los Angeles during the 2002 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. The Bruins won their fourth NCAA title this season, defeating Pac-10 rivals, Stanford, in the championship. To date, this is UCLA's most recent College Cup title. It was the 66th season the Bruins fielded a men's varsity soccer team, and their 11th season playing in the Pacific-10 Conference.

The season was originally scheduled to begin on September 26, 2020, and end with the 2020 Pac-12 Championship Game on December 18–19, 2020, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. On July 10, 2020, the Pac-12 announced that all competition in fall sports, including football, will be played exclusively in-conference due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
