The 1955 Pan American Games opened on March 12, 1955, in the University Stadium in Mexico City, Mexico, in front of a capacity crowd of 100,000 spectators.

Cole Konrad is an American retired mixed martial arts fighter. Konrad won a gold medal at the 2005 Pan-American Championships. He won the NCAA wrestling championships in 2006 and 2007 at 285 pounds and finished third at the 2006 World University Championships at 120 kilograms. He was the first Bellator Heavyweight World Champion.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship</span> International football competition

The 2011 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship was expanded to 12 teams beginning in 2011. The tournament determined the four CONCACAF teams that participated at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Colombia. In addition, the top three finishers from Central America or the Caribbean, in addition to hosts Mexico, qualified to participate at the 2011 Pan American Games. The Executive Committee approved that for men's U-20 championships all three North American teams again qualified automatically for the finals. Central America received four berths, and the Caribbean received five.

Patricia Alejandra Bermúdez is an Argentine freestyle wrestler. She competed in the freestyle 48 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was eliminated in the qualifications by Iwona Matkowska. She won the bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Games.

Wrestling competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 15 to 18 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga. Due to naming rights the arena will be known as the latter for the duration of the games. The competition is split into two disciplines, Freestyle and Greco-Roman which were further divided into different weight categories. Men competed in both disciplines whereas women only took part in the freestyle events, with 18 gold medals awarded. Wrestling has been contested at every Pan American Games.

Alexandria Town is a Canadian freestyle wrestler, competing in the 57kg weight class. In November 2018, Alex became the first ever Canadian to win a gold medal at the U23 World Championships. She has also secured Canada a place at the 2019 Pan Am Games by winning the bronze medal at 2018 Pan American Wrestling Championships.

Sarah Ann Hildebrandt is an American freestyle wrestler. She won one of the bronze medals in the women's 50 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She is a four-time medalist at the World Wrestling Championships and a gold medalist at the Pan American Games. She is also a seven-time gold medalist at the Pan American Wrestling Championships.

The XXIV 2020 Pan Am Badminton Championships is a continental championships tournament of badminton in Pan America. This tournament were held as two events in different countries. From 13 to 16 February, the team event was held in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. From 23 to 26 April, the individual event was planned to be held in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
