2021 Rugby World Cup Pool C

Pool C of the 2021 Rugby World Cup began on 8 October 2022 with France taking on South Africa at Eden Park. The pool includes two-time champions England and France, who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in 2017. [1] They are joined by South Africa, who qualified as champions of the 2021 Rugby Africa Women's Cup, [2] and by debutants Fiji, who qualified for the tournament with their win over Samoa. [3]

The 1987 Rugby World Cup was the first Rugby World Cup. It was co-hosted by New Zealand and Australia – New Zealand hosted 21 matches while Australia hosted 11 matches. Pool A of the 2023 Rugby World Cup began on 8 September 2023 and concluded on 6 October 2023. The pool included hosts France and previous three-time champions New Zealand, along with Italy, Uruguay and Namibia. Hosts France and New Zealand, whom France had defeated in the opening match, qualified from the pool.

The 2022 end of year rugby union tests, also known as the 2022 Autumn internationals, were a number of rugby union test matches played during the months of October and November. Some of the games were known as the Autumn Nations Series for marketing purposes. Also involved in matches were some second-tier teams. These international games count towards World Rugby's ranking system, with a team typically playing from two to four matches during this period.

Pool A of the 2021 Rugby World Cup began on 8 October 2022. The pool includes hosts and five-time and defending champions New Zealand, Australia and Wales. Australia and Wales finished sixth and seventh respectively in 2017. They are joined by Scotland, the winners of the Final Qualification Tournament.

In July and August 2023, several rugby union national teams played matches in preparation for the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Some of the matches involving Tier 1 and 2 nations were played under the Summer Nations Series branding.

The 2021 Rugby World Cup final was the final match of the 2021 Rugby World Cup, the ninth edition of the women's Rugby World Cup and the seventh organised by World Rugby for women's national rugby union teams. The match was contested between two-time champions England, and hosts and five-time and defending champions New Zealand on 12 November 2022 at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand, postponed from the previous year. This was the fifth time that these two nations met in a Rugby World Cup final, following the 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2017 editions. New Zealand won the Rugby World Cup for a record sixth time, beating England 34–31. New Zealand captain Ruahei Demant was named the player of the match.
