The 2021 Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball tournament was held at Toyota Field in Madison, Alabama from May 19 through 23. [2] Southern won the Tournament for the 17th time and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. [3] [4]

The double elimination tournament featured four teams from each division.

Seeding and format

The four eligible teams in each division weree seeded one through four, with the top seed from each division facing the fourth seed from the opposite division in the first round, and so on. The teams then played a two bracket, double-elimination tournament with a one-game final between the winners of each bracket.

The NCAA Bowling Championship is a sanctioned women's championship in college athletics. Unlike many NCAA sports, only one National Collegiate championship is held each season with teams from Division I, Division II, and Division III competing together. Seventeen teams, nine of them automatic qualifiers and the other eight being at-large selections, are chosen by the NCAA Bowling Committee to compete in the championship. The championship was first held in April 2004.

The Mid-American Conference baseball tournament is the conference baseball championship of the Mid-American Conference, Division I members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Since 2022, the top four finishers participate in the double-elimination tournament, which is played at the home field of the top seed. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth to the NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. The tournament began in 1981, but was not held from 1984 through 1991. It returned in 1992 and was held annually through 2019. It was scheduled to be played in May 2020, but was cancelled in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. As part of several changes announced in May 2020 related to the pandemic, the tournament was eliminated along with the post-season tournaments of seven other sports, for at least four seasons. The tournament, however, returned in May 2022 after the conference announced in May 2021 that the baseball tournament, along with all other conference tournaments that had been eliminated, would be restored for the 2021–22 athletic season. Kent State has won the most tournament titles with 12, followed by Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan with four each.

The 2012 Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball tournament took place at Lee–Hines Field, on the campus of Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA from May 16 through 20, 2012. The Prairie View A&M Panthers won their third tournament championship and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball tournament decides the conference baseball championship of the NCAA Division I Southwestern Athletic Conference. The 2014 Sun Belt Conference baseball tournament was held at Eddie Stanky Field on the campus of the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama from May 21 to May 25, 2014. The tournament used a double-elimination format. Louisiana–Lafayette won the tournament, earning the Sun Belt Conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. The league was expected to divide into two six team divisions for 2014, but due to the departures of three baseball playing schools the plan was shelved, possibly to be implemented in 2015 with the additions of Appalachian State and Georgia Southern.

The 2014 Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball tournament was held at Wesley Barrow Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana, from May 14 through 18, 2014. Jackson State won their sixteenth tournament championship, and second in a row, to earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. The event was originally scheduled for LaGrave Field in Fort Worth, Texas, but was moved due to concerns about player safety.

The 2015 Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball tournament was held at Wesley Barrow Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana, from May 13 through 17. Texas Southern won their third conference title, and first since 2008, to earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 2016 Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball tournament was held at Wesley Barrow Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana, from May 18 through 22. Alabama State won their first tournament championship and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. The 2019 SWAC women's basketball tournament took place March 12–16, 2019. Tournament first-round games were held on campus sites at the higher seed on March 12. The remaining rounds and the semifinals and championship at Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. The winner, Southern, received the Southwestern Athletic Conference's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament.

The 2021 SWAC women's basketball tournament was a postseason women's basketball tournament taking place March 10–13, 2021. The tournament was held at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. Jackson State received the Southwestern Athletic Conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament.

The 2022 Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball tournament will be held place at Regions Field in Birmingham, Alabama from May 25 through 29. The winner of the tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 2022 NCAA Bowling Championship was the 18th edition of the NCAA Bowling Championship, the annual tournament to determine the national champion of women's NCAA collegiate ten-pin bowling. The finals were hosted by the Mid-American Conference and played at Wayne Webb's Columbus Bowl in Columbus, Ohio from April 15–16, 2022.
