The 2022 Channel One Trophy was a Russian domestic team figure skating competition held from 25 to 27 March 2022 in Saransk. [2] It was held simultaneously with the 2022 World Figure Skating Championships, from which Russian (and Belarusian) figure skaters were excluded. [3]
On March 11, Figure Skating Federation of Russia published the competition format. As the framework of the competition, a jump festival and a team tournament are planned, where two teams would compete for prizes. When the competition began[ clarify ] on 25 March, Anna Shcherbakova was the captain of the red team and Mark Kondratiuk was the captain of the blue team. [4]

On the first day, the red team that won the team jumping competition received a check for 3 million roubles, and the other team received a check for 2 million. [1] [5] Later, Mark Kondratiuk won the individual jumping competition, getting 500 thousand roubles. [1] [6]
On Sunday, the red team was handed a check for 10 million roubles for winning the cup, and the losing team was handed a check for 7.5 million roubles. [1]
The Channel One Cup is an annual ice hockey event held in Russia under the auspices of Channel One. It is an open tournament typically composed of various national teams.
The Channel One Cup was an annual pre-season commercial football tournament, organized by Russian TV Channel One and Roman Abramovich's foundation, the National Football Academy. The participants were champions and runners-up of the Russian Premier League, Ukrainian Premier League and Israeli Premier League. The total prize fund was about two million dollars, with the winner getting one million. The cup rules specified that at least half of the prize money must be channeled into developing young players.

Kamila Valeryevna Valieva is a Russian figure skater. She is the 2022 European champion, 2021 Rostelecom Cup champion, 2021 Skate Canada International champion, and 2021 and 2023 Russian National silver medalist. She is also a provisional 2022 Olympic champion in the team event pending the conclusion of a WADA investigation. During the 2022 Winter Olympics, a sample that Valieva had submitted for a drug test in December tested positive for trimetazidine, which is banned in sports competition for increasing endurance. As of mid-February, investigations were ongoing.

The 2021 Russian Figure Skating Championships were held from 23 to 27 December 2020 in Chelyabinsk. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The 2021 Channel One Trophy was a domestic figure skating competition held from February 5–7, 2021 in Moscow, Russia. Members of the 2021 Russian national team who placed in the top six at either the 2021 Russian Championships or the 2020 European Championships, or who'd previously won the World Championships in any of the four disciplines were invited to compete. Skaters competed against each other in two teams consisting of three men's single skaters, three ladies' single skaters, two pair teams, and three ice dance teams, randomly selected by team captains Evgenia Medvedeva and Alina Zagitova.

The Channel One Trophy, or the Channel One Cup, is a Russian domestic team figure skating competition organized by the Russian Figure Skating Federation and the Channel One television channel.
Marina Vladimirovna Ovsyannikova is a Russian journalist who was employed on the Channel One Russia TV channel. She worked for Russia's main evening newscast Vremya on Channel One since the beginning of the 2000s, later describing her role as "producing Kremlin propaganda".
