The 2022 Software AG ERA Championship, formally known as the 2022 Electric Racing Academy Championship was a motor racing championship for open wheel, all-electric formula racing cars. This was the inaugural and so far, final season of the championship. It became a one-race championship at Circuit Zolder after many scheduling issues. [1] [2]
All drivers competed with identical Mitsu-Bachi F110E chassis based on the Dome F110 Formula 4 chassis, powered by a 130KW motor, with a 24KWh battery and Goodyear tires. [3] [4]

On 14 January, the provisional calendar was announced. The series supported the 2022 FIA ETCR - eTouring Car World Cup at all of its races. [1] On 22 February 2022, it was announced that Istanbul Park would host the first round instead of the Istanbul Street Circuit. [2] On 17 May, it was announced that Istanbul FIA ETCR round was postponed to November due to the organizational issues, so Istanbul ERA round was also postponed. [6] Only practice sessions were held at Hungaroring and Circuito del Jarama. [7] The round of the championship at Vallelunga Circuit was cancelled on 19 July due to logistical problems. [8]

Istanbul Park, also known as the Istanbul Racing Circuit or initially as the Istanbul Otodrom, is a motor sports race track in the Tuzla district of Istanbul, Turkey. Designed by Hermann Tilke, it opened on 19–21 August 2005. It has been called "the best race track in the world" by former Formula One Chief Executive Bernie Ecclestone, who held the managing rights of the circuit between 2007 and 2011. The circuit was then managed by the Turkish company Intercity since October 2012 to March 2024. The operating rights were given to Can Bilim Eğitim Kurumları A.Ş. in April 2024 for 30 years.

The FIA Formula 3 Championship is a third-tier international single-seater racing championship and organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship launched in 2019 as a feeder series for the FIA Formula 1 World Championship and FIA Formula 2 Championships. FIA ETCR – eTouring Car World Cup was a touring car series for electric cars. It was the first multi-brand all-electric touring car championship and in 2022 obtained the status of an official FIA series. However, in March 2023, the promoter announced that the series would not be continued.
The COVID-19 pandemic caused disruption to motorsport across the world, mirroring its impact across all sports. Across the world and to varying degrees, events and competitions were cancelled or postponed.
The FIA Electric GT Championship is a planned sports car racing series for electric grand tourers sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The inaugural season is expected to begin in 2026.
The 2022 ACCR Formula 4 Trophy was a motor racing series held in the Central and Eastern Europe, competed over four rounds. The full six rounds schedule was supposed to be the first season of the ACCR Formula 4 Championship organized by the Automobile Club of the Czech Republic. The season was supposed to start with its first round taking place at the Hungaroring in April and with the final round taking place at Brno Circuit in September. After many calendar changes caused by massive delivery delays, it was announced on 6 July that the start of the championship as an FIA Formula 4 Championship would be postponed to 2023 and that only the last three original rounds would be held as a trophy series. The series uses Tatuus F4-T-421 chassis primarily, although Tatuus F4-T014 was eligible for the Trophy class.
The 2022 FIA ETCR – eTouring Car World Cup was the second and last season of the touring car series for electric cars known as Pure ETCR Championship in its inaugural season in 2021. The season began on 6 May 2022 at the Circuit de Pau-Ville and ended on 25 September 2022 at Sachsenring. Adrien Tambay succeeded teammate Mattias Ekström as the drivers' champion, while Cupra EKS repeated its manufacturers' title. In March 2023, the promoter announced that the series would not be continued.
