Elon University is a private university in Elon, North Carolina. Founded in 1889 as Elon College, Elon is organized into six schools, most of which offer bachelor's degrees and several of which offer master's degrees or professional doctorate degrees.
Rhodes Stadium is an 14,000-seat multi-purpose stadium in Elon, North Carolina. Named for trustee Dusty Rhodes, his wife, Peggy, and their family, the stadium opened in 2001 and is home to the Elon University Phoenix football team. The stadium also hosts soccer games on occasion.
Shirley Schaub "Red" Wilson was an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Elon University for 1967 to 1976 and at Duke University from 1979 to 1982, compiling a career college football heading coaching record of 88–61–3.
William Harrison "Reddy" Rowe[n1] was an American football and baseball player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Elon College—now known as Elon University—in 1909 and at Wake Forest University in 1910, compiling a career college football record of 6–8. Rowe was born on August 18, 1887, in Plymouth, North Carolina. He died on May 27, 1966, in Durham, North Carolina.
The Elon Phoenix is the official mascot of Elon University, located in Elon, North Carolina. It is the name that each of the sports teams at the university are referred to. The university is a member of the Coastal Athletic Association and that league's technically separate football arm of CAA Football. Elon competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision, fielding 17 varsity teams in 11 sports.

Walter C. Latham Park is a baseball venue located in Elon, North Carolina, United States. It is home to the Elon Phoenix baseball team, a member of the Division I Colonial Athletic Association. The venue has a capacity of 2,000 spectators.
Curt Cignetti is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the current head football coach of the Indiana Hoosiers. He was previously the head coach of the James Madison Dukes, Elon Phoenix, and the IUP Crimson Hawks.
The 2013 Elon Phoenix football team represented Elon University in the 2013 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by third-year head coach Jason Swepson and played their home games at Rhodes Stadium. They were a member of the Southern Conference. This was their final season as a member of the SoCon as they joined the Colonial Athletic Association in 2014. They finished the season 2–10, 1–7 in SoCon play to finish in a tie for eighth place.
Rich Skrosky is an American college football coach and former player. He is a senior analyst for Duke. He was hired as head football coach at Elon University for the 2014 season. Skrosky served as an assistant coach at Elon under Pete Lembo from 2006 to 2010. Lembo's tenure brought new success to Elon's football program, which made its first FCS playoff appearance in 2009. Lembo was hired as head coach at Ball State University after the 2010 season. Skrosky joined Lembo's staff as offensive coordinator.

They were led by second-year head coach Curt Cignetti and played their home games at Rhodes Stadium. They were members of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). They finished the season 6–5, 4–3 in CAA play to finish in sixth place. They received an at-large bid to the FCS Playoffs where they were lost to Wofford in the first round.
The 1909 Elon Fightin' Christians football team represented Elon College in the 1909 college football season. In their inaugural season, the team was coached by Reddy Rowe, and outscored their opponents 62–23.

Olisaemeka Udoh is an American football offensive tackle for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Elon Phoenix and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the sixth round, 193rd overall in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Tony Trisciani is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Elon University in Elon, North Carolina a position he has held since the 2019 season. Before becoming head coach, Trisciani was the defensive coordinator for the Elon Phoenix under head coach Curt Cignetti. Trisciani also served as the defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator at Elon in 2006. He was named the head coach of Elon on December 17, 2018 after Curt Cignetti resigned to become the head coach at James Madison. Trisciani was the head football coach at Whitehall High School in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania from 2007 to 2011.

Davis Cheek is a former American football quarterback. He was a member of the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL), New Orleans Breakers of the United States Football League (USFL), and Michigan Panthers of the United Football League (UFL). He played college football at Elon.

The Phoenix, led by first-year head coach Billy Taylor, played their home games at the Schar Center in Elon, North Carolina as members of the Colonial Athletic Association.
