The 2022 Major Clubs T20 Tournament was the inaugural season of the Major Clubs T20 Tournament, was a Twenty20 cricket tournament that took place in Sri Lanka. organized by Sri Lanka Cricket.The tournament was played from 22 May to 17 June 2022. [1]
In the final, SL Army defeated Colts Cricket Club by 45 runs to win the inaugural title. [2]
The 26 qualifying teams were divided into four groups of sixes, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the knockout stage. which consisted of two semi-finals and a final.
The group stage will consist of four groups of sixes teams, played as a single round-robin format. The top two teams in each group will progress to the knockout-stage.

The Cricket World Cup is the quadrennial international championship of One Day International (ODI) cricket. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), every four years, with preliminary qualification rounds leading up to a finals tournament. Kariyawasam Indipalage Charith Asalanka is a Sri Lankan professional cricketer who currently serves as the captain of the national team in white-ball formats of T20I and ODI. He plays the limited overs formats of the game for the national team and is the 14th T20I captain of the Sri Lankan cricket team.
