The 2022 North America Talent Cup is the inaugural season of the North America Talent Cup. [1] The season opener was held alongside the MotoGP series event, the Motorcycle Grand Prix of the Americas, [1] at COTA and will end at MotoAmerica's final round of 2022 at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. [1] The inaugural season will feature only 20 riders, all racing on the Aprilia RS250SP2. [1] The top two at the end of the season will be invited to join in the selection event for the 2023 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. [1]

Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the premier class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Independent motorcycle racing events have been held since the start of the twentieth century and large national events were often given the title Grand Prix. The foundation of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme as the international governing body for motorcycle sport in 1949 provided the opportunity to coordinate rules and regulations in order that selected events could count towards official World Championships. It is the oldest established motorsport world championship.
Gresini Racing is a motorcycle racing team competing in the MotoGP World Championship under the name Gresini Racing MotoGP as a Ducati satellite team, in the Moto2 World Championship as Team Gresini Moto2, and the MotoE World Cup as Felo Gresini Team. The team also competes in CIV Moto3.
Bradley Smith is a British occasional motorcycle racer who for 2022 is linked to RNF E-Racing in MotoE. He was injured shortly after a Le Mans start when he was the opening rider team for Moto Ain Yamaha, at an FIM Endurance World Championship event in April 2022. He missed the opening three rounds of the MotoE racing season, being declared unfit to race at the third round at Mugello on 29 May 2022.
Jeremy McWilliams is a former motorcycle road racer from Northern Ireland. McWilliams became ineligible for mainstream racing after the 2014 season due to his age exceeding the 50-year-old cutoff point, but has continued to ride occasionally in fringe events not controlled by the FIM.
Tech3 is a motorcycle racing team competing in the MotoGP class World Championship under the name Tech3 KTM Factory Racing. They also compete in the Moto3 World Championship under the name Red Bull KTM Tech3 and the MotoE World Cup under the name Tech3 E-Racing.
Starting its second season, the 2008 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup season continued the search for future World Champions. The 2008 season begins with two races during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend at Jerez on March 29 and March 30 and ends with another double header at the Czech Republic Grand Prix in Brno on August 16 and August 17. Another six European GPs see single Rookies races on each Saturday, making it a ten-race championship, which is two more races than the last season.
Maverick Viñales Ruiz is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer. Viñales is the 2013 Moto3 World Champion, currently riding in MotoGP for the Aprilia Racing team, after five seasons as a MotoGP factory rider with the Yamaha Factory Racing team, his contract was terminated by mutual consent midway through the 2021 season.
Danilo Carlo Petrucci is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer competing in the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship with Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati New York. After losing his KTM ride in MotoGP at the end of the 2021 season, he entered the 2022 Dakar Rally with a Tech3 KTM rally raid 450 cc machine in January 2022.
Lorenzo Baldassarri is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer, currently competing for Evan Bros. SSP Yamaha team in the 2022 Supersport World Championship. Baldassarri has raced in the CIV 125GP Championship, the CEV Moto3 Junior Championship, the Moto3 World Championship, and the Moto2 World Championship, but is best known for winning the 2011 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.
Ayumu Sasaki is a Japanese Grand Prix motorcycle racer, competing in Moto3 for Sterilgarda Husqvarna Max.
MotoE, officially the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup, is a class of motorcycle racing that uses only electric motorcycles. The series is sanctioned by the FIM and the inaugural season in 2019 was due to support MotoGP at five of the European circuits. A fire in March 2019 involving recharging batteries destroyed the special facility and the race machines at Circuito de Jerez, Spain. The opening two race events, intended to be at Jerez on 5 May and Le Mans, France on 19 May, were cancelled, with a new schedule announced in late March of six races at four venues starting in July. The races are for approx 35 km.
Rory Skinner is a championship winning British motorcycle racer from Perth, Scotland, who also works as a motorcycle mechanic. After the 2019 season in British Supersport on a Kawasaki, for 2020 he moved to Appleyard Yamaha racing. Skinner dominated the 2020 British Supersport Championship, winning the first six races, and was crowned champion after his eighth victory of the season. For 2021, Skinner moved into the British Superbike Championship.
The 2019 MotoE season was the inaugural season of the MotoE World Cup for electric motorcycle racing, and was part of the 71st F.I.M. Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. After 6 races between July and November 2019, Italian rider Matteo Ferrari from the Trentino Gresini MotoE team became the first MotoE champion.
Can Alexander Öncü is a Turkish motorcycle racer. After spending the 2019 season in Moto3, for 2020 and 2021, he raced in the World Supersport with Turkish Racing Team, a new venture headed by Turkish former racer Kenan Sofuoğlu and supported by Pucetti Kawasaki and Orelac Racing.
The 2021 FIM MotoGP World Championship was the premier class of the 73rd F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Fabio Quartararo won his first world title, with five race wins ahead of securing the title in the third last race of the season. Quartararo became the first ever Frenchman to win the premier class title, which was also the first title for a non-Spanish rider since Australian Casey Stoner in 2011. The season also saw Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martín win their first premier class races. In the overall standings, Bagnaia secured second place and reigning champion Joan Mir secured third place, while Martín was named rookie of the year. Ducati secured the constructors' championship for the second consecutive season and the teams' championship for the first time since 2007. In total, eight different riders won Grands Prix during the season.
The 2022 FIM MotoGP World Championship is the premier class of the 74th F.I.M. Road Racing World Championship season. Fabio Quartararo came into the season as the defending World Champion. With the season ongoing, Ducati have secured the constructors' championship, with the riders' title yet to be decided.

The Honda British Talent Cup is a United Kingdom junior motorcycle racing series. It was founded in 2018 for riders at ages 12 to 17 from the British Isles to apply.
