The 2022 Utah Tech Trailblazers football team represented Utah Tech University (formerly Dixie State University) as a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) during the 2022 NCAA Division I FCS football season. They were led by head coach Paul Peterson, who was coaching his fourth season overall with the program. The Trailblazers played their home games at Greater Zion Stadium in St. George, Utah. This was their first season playing under the Utah Tech name.

The Utah Tech Trailblazers football team, formerly known as the Dixie State Trailblazers, represent Utah Tech University in the sport of American football. The Trailblazers compete as a member of the United Athletic Conference (UAC) at the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Originally a junior college program, the school joined the NCAA at the Division II level in 2006 and played in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference from 2008 through 2016 and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference for the 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons. In July 2020, they began the transition to NCAA Division I status by moving to the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) in all sports except football.

Greater Zion Stadium, originally Hansen Stadium and later Trailblazer Stadium, is a stadium on the campus of Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah. It is primarily used for American football, and is the home field of the Utah Tech Trailblazers football and soccer programs. The stadium holds 10,500 people. In 2002 and 2003, it hosted the Paradise Bowl which was a post season college football all-star game. After the seating expansion in 2017, Greater Zion Stadium became the largest stadium in the southern portion of Utah.

The 2022–23 WAC men's basketball season began with practices in October 2022 followed by the start of the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November 2022. The conference began play in December 2022. This is the WAC's 61st season of basketball. The WAC competed again with 13 teams with two teams leaving the conference and two teams joining the conference from the prior year. Chicago State turned independent and Lamar moved to the Southland Conference. Southern Utah University joins from the Big Sky Conference and UT Arlington joins from the Sun Belt Conference. Dixie State was also renamed as Utah Tech. Each WAC member played an 18-game conference schedule. The WAC tournament was held March 6–11, 2023 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
