The 2023 Canadian Figure Skating Championships were held on January 9-15, 2023 in Oshawa, Ontario. Medals were awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance at the senior, junior, and novice levels. The results were part of the Canadian selection criteria for the 2023 World Championships, the 2023 Four Continents Championships, and the 2023 World Junior Championships.

Contents

Oshawa was announced as the host in April 2022. [1] The city hosted the event once before in 1952. Competitors qualified at the Skate Canada Challenge in December. [2]

The 2023 Four Continents Championships were held from February 7–12 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in the United States. Teams were selected using the International Teams Selection Criteria.     The 2014 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships was held from January 9 to 15, 2014 at the Canadian Tire Centre, then-named Scotiabank Place. The event determines the national champions of Canada and was organized by Skate Canada, the nation's figure skating governing body as well as sponsored by Canadian Tire. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dancing on the senior, junior, and novice levels. Although the official International Skating Union terminology for female skaters in the singles category is ladies, Skate Canada uses women officially. The results of this competition are among the selection criteria for the 2014 Winter Olympics, 2014 World Championships, the 2014 Four Continents Championships, and the 2014 World Junior Championships.

    The 2017 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships was an international figure skating competition in the 2016–17 figure skating season. It was held at the Gangneung Ice Arena in Gangneung, South Korea on February 16–19. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The competition served as the figure skating test event for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.

    The 2016 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were held from 14–20 March 2016 in Debrecen, Hungary. Commonly called "World Juniors" and "Junior Worlds", the event determined the World Junior champions in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing.

    Carolane Soucisse is an ice dancer who represents Ireland and formerly Canada. With her skating partner, Shane Firus, she is the 2018 Four Continents silver medallist. They have finished third at the 2020 Canadian Championships and represented Canada on the Grand Prix circuit and at the World Championships and Ireland at the European and World Championships.
