The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a men's professional box lacrosse league in North America. The league is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Jake Bergey is a retired lacrosse player. Bergey played ten seasons for the Philadelphia Wings in the National Lacrosse League. Bergey is the son of former NFL star Bill Bergey, and brother of fellow lacrosse player Josh Bergey.
Athan Iannucci is a professional lacrosse player. He played collegiate lacrosse at Hofstra University. Iannucci played professional lacrosse for the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League. He was a member of the now defunct St. Regis Indians of the Ontario Lacrosse Association's Senior-A Major Series Lacrosse. He plays in the summer months for the WLA Langley Thunder.
Ian Llord is a professional lacrosse player who plays for the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League and the Six Nations Chiefs of Major Series Lacrosse.
Kyle Wailes is the Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of value-based care company, Wellvana Health. Wellvana provides tools, technologies, analytics, and resources for healthcare providers to successfully and seamlessly transition to value-based care. Wailes is known internationally as a Canadian indoor lacrosse player. Wailes played for the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League, played collegiate lacrosse at Brown University, and was a junior hockey player in the Ontario Hockey League.
The National Lacrosse League expansion draft is a meeting where the general managers of expansion National Lacrosse League teams begin to fill their teams with unprotected players from the rosters of existing NLL teams. Ryan Ward is a former lacrosse player in the National Lacrosse League. Ward played 11 seasons in the NLL with the Philadelphia Wings, Minnesota Swarm, and Edmonton Rush. He retired after the 2014 season.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Philadelphia, the season was suspended on March 12, 2020. On April 8, the league made a further public statement announcing the cancellation of the remaining games of the 2020 season and that they would be exploring options for playoffs once it was safe to resume play.

The Thunderbirds opened the 2023 season on December 2, 2022, against the Philadelphia Wings.
