The 2023 SEABA Under-16 Championship was the qualifying tournament for Southeast Asia Basketball Association at the 2023 FIBA Under-16 Asian Championship. The tournament was held in Surabaya, Indonesia from July 17 to 19. GOR Kertajaya Surabaya served as the venue of the four-team competition. [1]
The Philippines won their fifth straight title, their first since the 2017 edition, after completing a three-game sweep in the tournament. Malaysia, hosts Indonesia and Thailand finished the tournament with identical 1-2 records, however, due to superior quotient, Malaysia clinched second place, followed by Indonesia and Thailand. [2]
Philippines and Malaysia will represent SEABA in the U16 Asian tournament to be held in September 2023 in Doha, Qatar.

The Philippines men's national basketball team, commonly known as Gilas Pilipinas, is the basketball team representing the Philippines. The team is managed by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
The Southeast Asia Basketball Association (SEABA) is a subzone of FIBA Asia consisting of countries from Southeast Asia. The ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), a professional league, is the top level of club competition run by the SEABA.
The 2007 SEA Games basketball tournaments was held at Keelapirom Stadium, Suranaree University of Technology at Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
The men's national under-19 basketball team of the Philippines represents the country in junior men's under-18 and under-19 FIBA tournaments. It is governed by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
The Indonesia men's national basketball team represents the Republic of Indonesia in international basketball competitions. The governing body of the team is the Persatuan Bola Basket Seluruh Indonesia.
The 2003 FIBA Under-19 World Championship was the 7th edition of the FIBA U19 World Championship organized by FIBA. It was held in the Greek city of Thessaloniki from 10 to 20 July 2003. Australia won the tournament by beating Lithuania, 126–92, in the final, for their maiden title. Andrew Bogut was named the tournament MVP.
