The 2024 ASEAN Women's Cup is an international women's football tournament organised by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament will be held in Laos. [1]

Contents

The top three teams will qualify for the ASEAN Women’s Championship next year. [2] This is the first time that the tournament, last held as the 2022 AFF Women's Championship, will have a qualification tournament.

Six lowest ranked AFF teams from the 2022 AFF Women's Championship entered the ASEAN Women's Cup final tournament. [1]

Draw

The draw for the 2024 ASEAN Women's Cup was held on October 19, 2024, in Vientiane, Laos. [1] The teams were allocated into three pots based on their performances in the 2022 AFF Women's Championship. Host Laos were automaticaly placed in position A1. [3]

Group stage

Tiebreakers

Ranking in each group shall be determined as follows:

  1. Greater number of points obtained in all the group matches;
  2. Goal difference in all the group matches;
  3. Greater number of goals scored in all the group matches;
  4. Greater disciplinary points.

If two or more teams are equal on the basis on the above four criteria, the place shall be determined as follows:

  1. Result of the direct match between the teams concerned;
  2. Penalty shoot-out if only the teams are tied, and they met in the last round of the group;
  3. Drawing lots by the Organising Committee.

The whole tournament ran from 19 November to 17 December 2016. After the recognition by FIFA as a "category A" tournament, the 2016 edition of the tournament would grant international ranking points for each match.

The 2014 AFF Championship qualification tournament was the qualification process for the 2014 AFF Championship, the tenth edition of the ASEAN Football Championship. It was held in Laos from 12 to 20 October 2014, and involved the five lower ranked teams in Southeast Asia. The format was a single round-robin tournament with the top two teams qualifying for the tournament proper.

The 2015 AFF U-19 Youth Championship was the 13th edition of the tournament which was held in Laos for the first time between 22 August to 4 September 2015. It was initially going to be played in Indonesia but they were suspended by FIFA in May 2015.

The 2015 AFF U-16 Youth Championship is the 10th edition of the AFF U-16 Youth Championship, organised by the ASEAN Football Federation. It will be hosted by Cambodia for the second time after the 2007 AFF U-17 Youth Championship. It will be played between 27 July to 9 August 2015. It was set to be hosted by Indonesia but they were suspended by FIFA in May 2015.

The 2016 AFC U-16 Championship qualification decided the participating teams of the 2016 AFC U-16 Championship. The tournament is the 17th edition of the AFC U-16 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-16 national teams of Asia.

The 2018 AFF Championship was the 12th edition of the AFF Championship, the football championship of nations affiliated to the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF), and the 6th under the name AFF Suzuki Cup. The 2016 AFF Women's Championship was the ninth edition of the AFF Women's Championship, an international women's football tournament organised by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was held in Mandalay, Myanmar between 26 July to 4 August 2016.

The 2017 AFF U-15 Championship was the twelfth edition of the AFF U-16 Championship, the annual international youth association football championship organised by the ASEAN Football Federation for men's under-15 national teams of Southeast Asia. It had reverted from an under-16 competition to an under-15 competition in preparation for the AFC U-16 Championship 2018 qualifiers. Thailand, which were selected to host the tournament, returning for the first time since the cancelled 2009 AFF U-16 Youth Championship. Vietnam won the tournament after beating Thailand 4–2 on penalties in the final.

The Philippines national under-17 football team is the national under-17 football team of the Philippines and represents the country in international football competitions such as the FIFA U-17 World Cup, the AFC U-17 Asian Cup, the ASEAN U-16 Boys Championship and any other under-17 international football tournaments. The team is controlled by the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), the governing body of football in the Philippines.

The 2017 AFF U-16 Girls' Championship was the 2nd edition of the AFF U-16 Girls' Championship, an international women's football tournament organised by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was hosted by Laos in Vientiane from 8 to 20 May 2017. All matches were played at the New Laos National Stadium.The defending champion is Australia but they didn't participate in this edition.

The 2019 AFF U-15 Championship was the fourteenth edition of the AFF U-16 Championship, the annual international youth association football championship organised by the ASEAN Football Federation for men's under-15 national teams of Southeast Asia.

The 2022 AFF U-23 Championship was the 3rd edition of the AFF U-23 Championship, organised by ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was held from 14 to 26 February in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Indonesia were the defending champions, having won the 2019 edition. The tournament was held amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Indonesia and Myanmar withdrew from the tournament after several of their players tested positive for COVID-19.

The tournament was later rescheduled and was held from 4 to 17 July 2022 in the Philippines.

The 2022 AFF U-16 Championship was the fifteenth edition of the AFF U-16 Youth Championship, the annual international youth association football championship organised by the ASEAN Football Federation for men's under-16 national teams of Southeast Asia. It was hosted by Indonesia from 31 July to 12 August 2022. Twelve member associations of the ASEAN Football Federation competed in the tournament featuring three groups of four teams. The planned 2020 and 2021 AFF U-16 Youth Championship were cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic in Southeast Asia. Players born after 1 January 2006 could participate in this tournament.
