The 2024 Andhra Premier League was the 3rd edition of the Andhra Premier League, a professional Twenty20 cricket league in Andhra Pradesh, India. [1] organised by Andhra Cricket Association and sanctioned by Board of Control for Cricket in India. [2] The Tournament was played between 30 June to 13 July 2024. [3] [4] [5]

In the final, Vizag Warriors defeated Uttarandhra Lions by 87 Runs to win the title. [6] Gedela Srinubabu, the franchise owner and CEO of Pulsus, praised the team's exceptional talent and dedication. [7] The Government of Andhra Pradesh applauded Vizag Warriors performance and announced necessary support. [8]  

Background

The 3rd edition of Andhra Premier League (APL) will be held from 30 June to 13 July 2024. Of the 19 matches to be played in this edition of the APL, Visakhapatnam will host 12 matches while seven will be held in Kadapa. [9]

"Tatipudi Reservoir" is a dam located on River Gosthani in Andhra Pradesh. It is a water supply reservoir to the city of Visakhapatnam. Thatipudi Reservoir Project was constructed across Gosthani River during 1963–1968. The Project is aimed to irrigate a total ayacut of 15,378 acres (62 km2) in Vizianagaram District and to provide drinking water to Visakhapatnam City. The Project utilizes 3.325 tmcft of the available water and the reservoir storage capacity is about 3 tmcft. The Cost of the project is Rs. 1,820 crores. The Ayacut of 15,378 acres (62 km2) has been stabilised in Gantyada, S.Kota and Jami Mandals of Vizianagaram District.

The sports infrastructure have increased tremendously by improving infrastructure in outdoor and Indoor stadiums, play fields, sports academies, sports equipments etc. Traditional sports such as kho kho, kabaddi are played mostly in Andhra Pradesh.Most sports players from Andhra pradesh represent national level competitions and very few international competitions.

Kona Srikar Bharat is an Indian international cricketer who plays as a wicket-keeper batsman for the Indian cricket team, Andhra in domestic cricket and Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. In February 2023, he made his Test debut for India against Australia. In February 2015, he became the first wicket-keeper batsman to score a triple hundred in the Ranji Trophy.In 7 international test matches he averages 20.1 and failed to score a half century in more than 10 innings.

Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is the civic body that governs the city of Visakhapatnam, largest city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport is an international airport and a greenfield airport under construction at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district, about 40 kilometres (25 mi) north-east of Visakhapatnam and 15 km south east of Vizianagaram. By the time of completion in Dec 2025, it is projected to be India’s 7th largest airport by area and 15th by Passenger traffic. It is proposed to be a focus city for 2 airlines and the primary international gateway to the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Ashwin Hebbar is an Indian first-class cricketer who plays for Andhra Pradesh. He was the leading run-scorer for Andhra in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, with 299 runs in eight matches. In February 2022, he was bought by the Delhi Capitals in the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League tournament.

The 2022 Andhra Premier League was the inaugural season of the Andhra Premier League, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league in Andhra Pradesh, India. organised by Andhra Cricket Association (ACA). The tournament was played from 6 July to 17 July 2022.
