The 2024 Baloncesto Superior Nacional season is the 95th season of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). [1] The Gigantes de Carolina comes into the season as the defending champions, winning the 2023 BSN Finals. [2] The regular season began on April 3, and ended on July 1. The tie-breaker and play-in game was held on July 10–12, 2024. The 2024 BSN playoffs then began on July 13.
On August 17, 2023, the league approved the transfer of ownership of the Grises de Humacao to a group that relocated them to Caguas and rebranded the team as Criollos de Caguas, a club that participated in the BSN from 1976 to 2009. [3]

On July 11, 2024, the league announced the end of season award winners; with Travis Trice being named the league's Most Valuable Player. This year's BSN Awards event was held in the theater of the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law. [4]

The 2024 Final (also known as the 2024 La Final Brava for sponsorship reasons) is the championship series of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN)'s 2024 season and conclusion to the season's playoffs. The final's series was a best-of-seven alternating venues after every game between the final two teams: Criollos de Caguas and Osos de Manatí.

The Baloncesto Superior Nacional, abbreviated as BSN, is the first-tier-level professional men's basketball league in Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1929 and is organized by the Puerto Rican Basketball Federation.
The Criollos de Caguas are a professional basketball team based in Caguas, Puerto Rico. They play in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) League, the top division basketball league in Puerto Rico. They are the league's defending champions, having defeated the Osos de Manatí in 7 games in the final of the 2024 Baloncesto Superior Nacional season.
Cangrejeros de Santurce is the name of several franchises sanctioned by the professional basketball league Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) of Puerto Rico. Named after Santurce, all versions have played out of San Juan. The first franchise was founded in 1918 and began active play in the BSN in 1956, winning titles in 1962 and 1968 before folding.
The Piratas de Quebradillas is a Puerto Rican basketball team, part of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), the top flight of Puerto Rico basketball. Founded in the mid 1920s, it is one of the original teams of the league. The club enjoyed its most successful era during the 1970s, when they won four championships, including a three-peat, and participated in six league finals. However, after the 2004 season, the team suffered from financial problems, which prevented them from participating in the following five seasons. The club returned to active competition in 2009 with new players and a new arena, as well as a trip to the league finals. After a 34 years hiatus, in 2013 they won the BSN championship, defeating the Leones de Ponce in a six game series.
Peter John Ramos Fuentes, nicknamed as Mr. Beast, is a Puerto Rican former professional basketball player and professional wrestler. He is the sixth athlete from Puerto Rico to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the third drafted, gathering success in the NBA Development League (NBDL), where he was an All Star during the 2006–07 season. Ramos has also played in Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) and the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was a member of the Puerto Rico national basketball team from 2004 to 2016, making his Olympic debut in the game where Puerto Rico defeated the United States at Athens.
Alfred "Butch" Lee Jr. is a Puerto Rican former professional basketball player. Lee was the first Puerto Rican and first Latin American-born athlete to play in the National Basketball Association (NBA), accomplishing this after being selected in the first round of the 1978 NBA draft.
The Capitanes de Arecibo are a Puerto Rican professional basketball team based in Arecibo that competes in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) league. In 2010, the team also had the distinction to play in the Premier Basketball League (PBL) under the name Capitanes de Puerto Rico. The team began play in the league in 1946. Home games are held at Manuel Iguina Coliseum, which the team shares with the Capitanes de Arecibo men's volleyball team.
Carlos Escalera is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player. Escalera has played in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and the National Superior Basketball League of Puerto Rico (BSN) with Mets de Guaynabo, Taínos de Mayagüez, Aguadilla Tiburones, Maratonistas de Coamo, and Vaqueros de Bayamón and Capitanes de Arecibo.
Angelo Reyes is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player. Reyes was born in New York he has played in the United States American Basketball Association, the Premier Basketball League, the Dominican Republic Liga Nacional de Baloncesto, the Mexico Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, the Uruguayan Federacion Uruguaya de Basquetbol FUBB, the Australian National Basketball League, and the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional. Reyes has been a member of the Puerto Rican National Team since 2006.
Cariduros de Fajardo were a professional basketball team of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), founded in 1973. Based in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, the team played at the Tomás Dones Coliseum, and contested the BSN, the top division of basketball in Puerto Rico.
The Gigantes de Carolina is a Puerto Rican professional basketball team in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional based in Carolina, Puerto Rico. After 12 years of inaction, they returned for the 2021 season.
Andrés Guillermo Rodríguez Fernández is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player, who last played for Atenienses de Manatí of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional. He was born in Puerto Rico, where he debuted as a professional basketball played for the Criollos de Caguas in 1999. Rodríguez attended University of Louisville and American University, completing his college education in 2004. Afterwards, he migrated to Europe, where he first played for Olimpija Ljubljana and had his best season by leading the Liga ACB in assists per game in 2013 with Obradoiro CAB. While concurrently playing in Puerto Rico, Rodríguez won three BSN championships for two different teams. Internationally, he is a member of the Puerto Rico national basketball team.
James Raymond Carter Gaudino is a retired Puerto Rican basketball player. Carter spent most of his career as a point guard for the Brujos de Guayama of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). Carter is currently the all-time assists leader of the league. During his 20-year career, he also played for the Indios de Mayagüez, Criollos de Caguas, Maratonistas de Coamo, and Capitanes de Arecibo. Carter also played since 1992 to the year 2000 for the Explosivos de Moca of the Liga de Baloncesto Puertorriqueña.
Travis Lamar Trice II is an American professional basketball player for the Beijing Royal Fighters of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for the Michigan State Spartans, leading his team in points during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. He attended Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio, where he played under his father, Travis Trice Sr.
The Osos de Manatí are a professional basketball team based in Manatí, Puerto Rico. They play in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN), the top division basketball league in Puerto Rico. Prior to 2017, the team was named Atenienses de Manatí. In October 2022 they returned from a hiatus, when Puerto Rican singer Ozuna purchased the Brujos de Guayama, and relocated the team to Manatí. The team reached its first ever BSN finals in 2024, but lost in seven games to the Criollos de Caguas.

Isaac Sosa Carrion is a Puerto Rican professional basketball player for Osos de Manatí of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). He played collegiate basketball at UCF and Canisius University, and his professional career includes stops in Greece, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Poland, and Puerto Rico. He represents Puerto Rico internationally.
The 2024 BSN finals was the championship series that decided the 2024 Baloncesto Superior Nacional champions in Puerto Rico. The best-of-seven playoffs pitted the one time (2006) champions Criollos from Caguas, versus the Osos from Manati, who were trying for their first title.
