The 2025 European Championship is the 17th European Championship in American football. The preliminary round will be played around Europe from early October to early November 2024. The final round will be played in 2/3 August and 25/26 October 2025. [1] [2] [3]

Group A, first round

The first round will be played around Europe from 5 October to November 2024. It saw 12 teams divided to four groups.

Football is the most popular sport in Austria. The Austrian Football Association, the ÖFB, was founded in 1904 and has been a member of FIFA since then. Despite the sport's popularity, except for a successful streak in the early 1930s, the country's national team has not been successful in tournaments. Austria played their first ever European championship as a qualifier in 2016, but finished last in their group and failed to advance. Appeared in the European championship in 2008, 2016, 2020 and recently qualified for 2024. Their best up to date achievement of this competition was the Round of 16 in the 2020 edition.

Horst Hrubesch is a German professional football manager and former player who manages the Germany women national team. As a player, Hrubesch won three West German championships with his club side, Hamburger SV, as well as the European Cup title in 1983. He was a key member of the West Germany team that made it to the final of the 1982 World Cup, losing to Italy. His nickname was Das Kopfball-Ungeheuer for his heading skills as a centre forward.

The 2025 UEFA Women's Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Women's Euro 2025 or simply Euro 2025, will be the 14th edition of the UEFA Women's Championship, the quadrennial international football championship organised by UEFA for the women's national teams of Europe. The tournament will be played in Switzerland from 2 to 27 July 2025. It will be the third edition since it was expanded to 16 teams. The tournament will return to its usual four-year cycle after the previous tournament was indirectly delayed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2025 IHF World Men's Handball Championship, will be the 29th event hosted by the International Handball Federation. It will be held in Croatia, Denmark and Norway from 14 January to 2 February 2025. This edition marks the first time the world championship is being held in three countries.

The 2023 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship was the 20th edition of the UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship, the annual international youth football championship organised by UEFA for the women's under-19 national teams of Europe. Belgium hosted the tournament on 18–30 July. It was the first women's final tournament held in Belgium. A total of eight teams played in the tournament, with players born on or after 1 January 2004 eligible to participate.

The 2021 European Championship was the 15th European Championship in American football. The preliminary round has been played around Europe from 21 September to 2 November 2019. The final round was scheduled to be played in 2020, but due to the COVID-pandemic it was postponed to 2021, and was played in August and October 2021. In 2021 6 out of the scheduled 12 games has not been played, including the semi-final between reigning champion France and Italy.
