The 20th Empire Awards ceremony (officially known as the Jameson Empire Awards), presented by the British film magazine Empire, honored the best films of 2014 and took place on 29 March 2015 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, England. [1] [2] During the ceremony, Empire presented Empire Awards in 12 categories as well as three honorary awards. Irish actor James Nesbitt hosted the show for the second consecutive year. [1] The awards were sponsored by Jameson Irish Whiskey for the seventh consecutive year. [2]

Interstellar won two awards including Best Film and Best Director for Christopher Nolan. Other winners included Kingsman: The Secret Service also with two awards and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes , Gone Girl , Guardians of the Galaxy , Oculus , Paddington , The Babadook , The Imitation Game and X-Men: Days of Future Past with one. The cast of Game of Thrones received the Empire Hero Award, Christopher Nolan received the Empire Inspiration Award and Ralph Fiennes received the Empire Legend Award. Oliver Jones & Robert Kenyon from the United Kingdom won the Done In 60 Seconds Award for their 60-second film version of Ghostbusters .

The Done In 60 Seconds Award is an award presented annually by the British film magazine Empire to the winner of that year's Done In 60 Seconds Competition, in which participants recreate a known film in 60-seconds. The Done In 60 Seconds Award was first introduced at the 13th Empire Awards in 2008, with Nick Jesper from the United Kingdom receiving the award for his 60-second version of Titanic. The competition was open for its first two years only to entries from the United Kingdom and has since become an international competition with each participating country selecting its own local winner which then joins the global shortlist of films, from which a panel of judges selects the global winner.

The Empire Hero Award is an honorary Empire Award presented by the British film magazine Empire. The Empire Hero Award was first introduced at the 15th Empire Awards ceremony in 2010 with Jude Law receiving the award. Actor Tom Hiddleston is the most recent winner in this category. Empire now presents three honorary awards: Empire Hero Award, Empire Inspiration Award and Empire Legend Award.

The Empire Inspiration Award is an honorary Empire Award presented by the British film magazine Empire. The Empire Inspiration Award was first introduced at the 2nd Empire Awards ceremony in 1997 with the Monty Python team receiving the award. The award was absent from the 3rd, 8th, 12th and 14th Empire Awards ceremonies. Luc Besson is the most recent winner in this category. At the most recent awards ceremony three honorary awards were presented: Empire Hero Award, Empire Inspiration Award and Empire Legend Award.
