Televizija 24 (formerly 24 Vesti) is a Macedonian 24-hour news channel originating from the national capital of Skopje.

The 24-hour news cycle is 24-hour investigation and reporting of news, concomitant with fast-paced lifestyles. The vast news resources available in recent decades have increased competition for audience and advertiser attention, prompting media providers to deliver the latest news in the most compelling manner in order to remain ahead of competitors. Television-, radio-, print-, online- and mobile app news media all have many suppliers that want to be relevant to their audiences and deliver news first.

News broadcasting is the medium of broadcasting of various news events and other information via television, radio, or internet in the field of broadcast journalism. Macedonia naming dispute Resolved naming dispute between Greece and North Macedonia

The use of the name "Macedonia" was disputed between the Southeast European countries of Greece and North Macedonia. Pertinent to its background is an early 20th-century multifaceted dispute and armed conflict that formed part of the background to the Balkan Wars. The specific naming dispute, although an existing issue in Yugoslav–Greek relations since World War II, was reignited after the breakup of Yugoslavia and the newly gained independence of the former Socialist Republic of Macedonia in 1991. Since then, it was an ongoing issue in bilateral and international relations until it was settled with the Prespa agreement in June 2018, the subsequent ratification by the Macedonian and Greek parliaments in late 2018 and early 2019, and the official renaming of Macedonia to North Macedonia in February 2019.

Gjorge Ivanov is a Macedonian politician, currently serving as President of the Republic of North Macedonia, in office since 2009.

Aleksandra Radović is a Serbian singer and songwriter. Debuted in 2003, she has released for studio albums, had several regional tours, including annual concerts in Belgrade's Sava Centar, and won many prestigious music awards, making her one of the most successful Serbian pop singers. Vasilije Trbić Chetnik soldier

Vasilije Trbić was a Serbian Chetnik commander in Macedonia who became a politician in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, first representing the People's Radical Party (NRS) in the country's National Assembly and later the Yugoslav National Party (JNP). Born in the village of Bijelo Brdo, near Dalj in Austria-Hungary, Trbić was a monk in his youth. He fled Mount Athos after being accused of murdering several fellow monks and joined the nationalist band of Jovan Drimkolski in 1904–05, quickly becoming the unit's commander. Trbić fought alongside Serbian forces during the Balkan Wars and during World War I, earning the Order of the Star of Karađorđe for his efforts. Acting alongside other former Chetnik commanders, he participated in establishing organizations whose purpose was to raise monuments to Serbian military successes from 1912–18 and to promote cultural development in Macedonia in the interwar period. He died in 1962.

Smilkovci lake killings

The Smilkovci Lake killings took place on 12 April 2012. Five ethnic-Macedonian civilians were shot and killed by ethnic Albanians at a man-made lake near the village of Smilkovci, outside the Macedonian capital Skopje.

Cvetan Grozdanov was an art historian from Macedonia. He was born in Ohrid, Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Grozdanov was a president of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts in period 2004—2008. He is a member of the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts since 2003.

2014 Macedonian general election

General elections were held in the Republic of Macedonia in April 2014 to elect the President and members of parliament. The first round of the presidential elections were held on 13 April, with incumbent president Gjorge Ivanov getting the lead with 52% of the vote. However, as he did not receive the support of 50% of all registered voters, a second round was held on 27 April, alongside parliamentary elections, with Ivanov and the ruling coalition led by VMRO-DPMNE claiming victory.

Macedonia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Their entry was selected through an internal selection, organised by the Macedonian broadcaster Macedonian Radio Television (MRT). Macedonia was represented by the song "To the Sky" performed by Tijana, which failed to qualify from the second semi-final, placing 13th with a score of 33 points. The song was written by Elena Risteska, Darko Dimitrov and Lazar Cvetkoski.
