The 2nd Filmfare Marathi Awards is a ceremony, presented by Karrm, honored the best Indian Marathi-language films of 2015. [1] [2]

Double Seat led the ceremony with 11 nominations, followed by Katyar Kaljat Ghusali with 10 nominations.

Katyar Kaljat Ghusali dominated with 8 wins, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Music Director and Best Male Playback Singer, and followed by Court with 4 wins.

Ceremony

It was held at Film City, Goregaon, the 2nd Filmfare Marathi Awards honored the films released in 2015. [3] At a press conference helmed by editor of Filmfare magazine, revealed Karrm as the title sponsor. [4] Actors Sonalee Kulkarni, Mrunmayee Deshpande, Amruta Khanvilkar, Shibani Dandekar, Pooja Sawant, Avadhoot Gupte and Ganesh Acharya performed during the event. [5] [6] Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt, Anil Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Vivek Oberoi and Sonali Bendre were also present at the event. [7] It took place on 27 November 2016. [8]

Katyar Kaljat Ghusali is a 2015 Indian Marathi-language epic musical drama film based on a play by the same name. Directed by Subodh Bhave, the film stars Sachin Pilgaonkar, Shankar Mahadevan, and Subodh Bhave in lead roles. The film marks the directorial debut for Bhave, and the theatrical acting debut for Shankar Mahadevan. The original play, written by Purushottam Darvhekar, premiered in 1967 in Mumbai, where Hindustani classical vocalist Vasantrao Deshpande played one of the protagonists. In 2010, the play was relaunched with protagonists essayed by Rahul Deshpande, grandson of Vasantrao Deshpande and singer Mahesh Kale. The film's music is composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, and retained some of the songs from the original play composed by Jitendra Abhisheki.

The Filmfare Marathi Awards are presented annually to both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Marathi film industry of India. Indian actress Amruta Khanvilkar primarily appears in Marathi and Hindi films. She began her career in 2004 as a contestant on the reality show Zee Cine Star ki Khoj and made her acting debut that same year in the Hindi short film Saanjh, presented by the Film and Television Institute of India. Khanvilkar made her film debut by playing the dual role in the Marathi-language film Golmaal (2006). The following year, she made her Bollywood debut with the drama Mumbai Salsa (2007), which proved to be average at the box office, but her next release comedy Saade Maade Teen, opposite Bharat Jadhav, was a huge commercial success. In 2008, she starred in the super hit supernatural horror film Phoonk and later reprised her role in its sequel, Phoonk 2, both opposite Kichcha Sudeep. Her sole film release in 2009 was the big budget Marathi film Gaiir.

<i>Katyar Kaljat Ghusali</i> (soundtrack) 2015 soundtrack album by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and Jitendra Abhisheki

Katyar Kaljat Ghusali is the soundtrack to the 2015 Marathi film of the same name directed by Subodh Bhave based on the 1967 stage play by Purushottam Darvhekar. The film features 17 songs—which included original songs composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and the recreations of original music from the play composed by Jitendra Abhisheki and written by Darvhekar. The original songs had lyrics written by Sameer Samant, Mangesh Kangane, Mandar Cholkar and Prakash Kapadia. The soundtrack was released by Zee Music Company on 16 October 2015.
