The 31st annual Singapore International Film Festival took place from 26 November to 6 December 2020 in Singapore. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival was held hybrid, combining physical and virtual screenings. [1] The festival opened with satirical comedy film Tiong Bahru Social Club by Tan Bee Thiam. [2]

The Pingyao International Film Festival (PYIFF), officially as "Pingyao Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon International Film Festival", is a film festival held in Pingyao, Shanxi, China. It was launched in October 2017 by Jia Zhangke, a Chinese film director, screenwriter and leading figure of the "Sixth Generation" movement of Chinese cinema and prestigious festival director Marco Müller. The festival's goal is to bring attention to works done by young, lesser known directors in the Chinese film industry, as well as to encourage communication and cooperation between Chinese and international filmmakers, mainly showing films from Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and Africa.

<i>Soni</i> (film) 2018 film by Ivan Ayr

Soni is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language crime drama film directed by Ivan Ayr. Produced by Kimsi Singh and Kartikeya Narayan Singh, the film stars Geetika Vidya Ohlyan and Saloni Batra in the lead roles. It was written by Ayr and Kislay and chronicles the life of police officer Soni (Ohlyan) and her superintendent in Delhi Police Kalpana (Batra), who deal with crimes against women in the city.

Meel Patthar (transl.Milestone) is a 2020 Indian Hindi-language drama film co-written, edited and directed by Ivan Ayr and produced by Kimsi Singh. Starring Suvinder Vicky and Lakshvir Saran in major roles, the story follows a truck driver who tries to cope with the tragic death of his wife. The film premiered in the Orizzonti (Horizons) section of the 77th Venice International Film Festival on 3 September 2020. It was also screened at the 25th Busan International Film Festival and the Pingyao International Film Festival. Meel Patthar won the Best Film award while Vicky was given the Best Performer Award in the Asian feature film category at the Singapore International Film Festival. Netflix acquired the distribution rights of the film and it was released worldwide on the platform on 7 May 2021.

<i>Autobiography</i> (film) 2022 thriller drama film

Autobiography is a 2022 Indonesian thriller drama film written and directed by Makbul Mubarak in his directorial debut. It stars Kevin Ardilova and Arswendy Bening Swara. The film had its world premiere at the 79th Venice International Film Festival during the Horizons program on September 2, 2022, where it won the FIPRESCI Award for Best Film in sections other than the main competition. Autobiography won the sole award in Best Original Screenplay category among other seven nominations at the 2022 Indonesian Film Festival. The film was selected as the Indonesian entry for Best International Feature Film at the 96th Academy Awards.

The 35th annual Singapore International Film Festival was held from 28 November to 8 December 2024 in Singapore. A total of 105 films from 45 countries were screened during the festival. The festival opened with Yeo Siew Hua's Stranger Eyes.

The 34th annual Singapore International Film Festival was held from 30 November to 10 December 2023 in Singapore. A total of 101 films from 50 countries were screened during the festival. With two co-productions and three feature films, this year broke the record for the highest number of films selected in competition by Singaporean directors since 1997. Amanda Nell Eu's feature directorial debut Tiger Stripes opened the festival. Drama film Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell won the festival's main award Silver Screen Award for Best Asian Film.

The 33rd annual Singapore International Film Festival was held from 24 November to 4 December 2022 in Singapore. A total of 101 films from 55 countries were screened during the festival. Adilkhan Yerzhanov's thriller film Assault opened the festival. Two new program sections, Altitude and Horizon, were introduced during the festival. Singaporean film #LookAtMe and Portuguese-French film Will-o'-the-Wisp were refused classification by the Infocomm Media Development Authority and were therefore banned from screening at the festival.

The 32nd annual Singapore International Film Festival took place from 25 November to 5 December 2021 in Singapore. The festival returned to cinema-only events after an online edition a year prior, due to COVID-19 pandemic. Five new sections were introduced during the festival: Foreground, Milestone, Standpoint, Undercurrent, and Domain. Edwin's Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash served as the opening film of the festival.
