Michel Franco (born 28 August 1979) is a Mexican film director, screenwriter and producer. [1] He is best known for his film After Lucia that won the Prize Un Certain Regard at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. [2]

The Palme d'Or is the highest prize awarded to the director of the Best Feature Film of the Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival. It was introduced in 1955 by the festival's organizing committee. Previously, from 1939 to 1954, the festival's highest prize was the Grand Prix du Festival International du Film.
