The 8th Filmfare Marathi Awards is a ceremony, presented by R R Kabel Ltd, honored the best Indian Marathi-language films of 2023. [1] [2]

Contents

Baipan Bhaari Deva and Unaad led the ceremony with 16 nominations each, followed by Jhimma 2 with 13 nominations and Baaplyok with 12 nominations.

Aatmapamphlet and Unaad dominated the ceremony, each securing 5 awards, former winning the Best Film and Best Director, whereas latter winning in categories like Best Director Debut, Best Lyricist and Best Female Playback Singer. Naal 2 was the runner-up, bagging 4 awards, which included Best Film Critics, Best Supporting Actor and Best Child Artist. [3] [4]

Ceremony

It will be held at Mahakavi Kalidas Natyamandir, the 8th Filmfare Marathi Awards honored the films released in 2023. [5] At a press conference helmed by editor of Filmfare magazine, revealed R R Kabel Ltd as the title sponsor. [6] Actors Amey Wagh and Siddharth Chandekar were announced as the co-hosts, while actor Prajakta Mali, Prarthana Behere, Vaibhav Tatwawadi and Shruti Marathe were announced to be performing during the event. [7] [8] It will take place on 18 April 2024. [9]

Vaalvi is a 2023 Indian Marathi-language dark comedy thriller film directed by Paresh Mokashi and produced by Madhugandha Kulkarni under the production banner of Zee Studios. The film stars Swapnil Joshi, Anita Date Kelkar, Subodh Bhave and Shivani Surve and was released theatrically on 13 January 2023 and digitally on ZEE5 on 24 February 2023. In the film, Aniket (Joshi) plans to murder his mentally unstable wife, Avani, by faking a double suicide along with his girlfriend, Devika (Surve), but unforeseen circumstances compel them to team up with a psychiatrist, Anshuman (Bhave).

Baaplyok is a 2023 Indian Marathi-language family drama film directed and co-written by Makarand Mane with star Vitthal Kale, it also stars Shashank Shende, Payal Jadhav, Neeta Shende in the leading roles. The film is jointly produced by Vijay Shinde's 99 Productions and Bahurupi productions. The music and background score was composed by Vijay Gavande, while the lyrics was written by Guru Thakur and Vaibhav Deshmukh. It was theatrically released on 1 September 2023.

<i>Chandramukhi</i> (2022 soundtrack) 2022 soundtrack album by Ajay–Atul

Chandramukhi is the soundtrack to the 2022 Marathi film of the same name directed by Prasad Oak starring Amruta Khanvilkar in the titular role alongside Adinath Kothare and Mrunmayee Deshpande. The film's musical score and six-song soundtrack is composed by Ajay–Atul with lyrics written by Guru Thakur. With four songs preceded the album, the soundtrack to the film released on 28 April 2022 through Everest Entertainment, to positive response from critics and audience and received numerous accolades. The songs "Chandra" and "Bai Ga" were chartbusters.

The Zee Chitra Gaurav Puraskar for Best Director is chosen by the viewers of Zee Marathi as part of its annual award ceremony for Marathi films, to recognise a director who has delivered an outstanding performance.

The Zee Chitra Gaurav Puraskar for Best Lyricist is presented by Zee Marathi as part of its annual Zee Chitra Gaurav Puraskar, for best lyrics written by a lyricist in Marathi films, who are selected by the jury. Guru Thakur has won most awards in this category.
