The 9th Corps, Turkish Land Forces, is a field corps. The corps headquarters is located in Erzurum, and the corps is part of the Third Army (Turkey). It is deployed along Turkey's eastern boundary.

History

Nigel Thomas's NATO Armies 1949-87, published in 1987, attributed the 4th, 8th, and 9th Corps to the Third Army. [1]

Cyprus Turkish Peace Force Command Turkish military garrison deployed in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

The Cyprus Turkish Peace Force Command is the Turkish garrison in Cyprus. In 1974 Turkish troops invaded Cyprus following a Greek Cypriot coup d'état which wanted to force union with Greece, occupying the northern third of the island. The invasion force, which consisted of about 40,000 soldiers and 200 tanks. It outnumbers the Greek military contingent on the island, which is supplemented by the Greek Cypriot National Guard consisting of 12,000 active and 75,000 reserves. Air reinforcement of the Turkish troops can be effected, if necessary, within hours.

The 70th Mechanized Infantry Brigade is a brigade of the Turkish Army based in the Southeastern Anatolia Region at the town of Kızıltepe in Mardin Province. It is part of the Army's 7th Corps based at Diyarbakir.

Hakkari Mountain and Commando Brigade Military unit

The 5th Commando Brigade, more commonly known as the Hakkari Mountain and Commando Brigade, stationed in Hakkâri Province in southeastern Turkey, founded as a battalion of the 1st Commando Brigade. Because of the ongoing Kurdish-Turkish conflict, the formation enlarged from the size of a battalion to a brigade.

Dardanelles Fortified Area Command Military unit

The Dardanelles Fortified Area Command or Mediterranean Strait Fortified Area Command or Çanakkale Fortified Area Command was the Ottoman fortified area command and was formed to defend against attacks on the Dardanelles from the Aegean Sea.

The Ottoman Military College or Imperial Military Staff College or Ottoman Army War College, was a two-year military staff college of the Ottoman Empire. It was located in Constantinople. Its mission was to educate staff officers for the Ottoman Army.

Oktay Yıldırım is a former member of Turkey's Special Warfare Department, and was a defendant in the Ergenekon trials as well as the Turkish Council of State shooting. On 5 August 2013 Yıldırım was sentenced to 33 years and 10 months. Yıldırım was a founder in 2005 of the Kuvayı Milliye Derneği, and was head of its Istanbul branch.

The Amphibious Marine Brigade, also known as Amphibious Commando, is the marine corps unit of the Turkish Naval Forces based in Foça near İzmir, three amphibious battalions, an MBT battalion, an artillery battalion, a support battalion and other company-sized units.

8th Corps (Turkey) Turkish infantry corps

The 8th Corps is a field corps of the Turkish Army. It is headquartered at Elazığ in Elazığ Province. It appeared to have been under command of General Osman Erbaş, until his death in a 2021 helicopter crash. Current leadership after the crash is unknown.

The 4th Commando Brigade is one of the 12 infantry brigades in Turkish Land Forces. It's under the 8th Corps and is headquartered at Tunceli. It was involved in Operation Olive Branch (2018) in Syria and fought in Operation Claw (2019) with the Gendarmerie Special Operations in Iraq.

The 9th Commando Brigade is one of the 12 infantry brigades designated as commando in Turkish Land Forces. It's under the 9th Corps and is headquartered at Sarıkamış, Kars Province. Search and rescue training is given to soldiers in the brigade. Brigade was involved in Operation Olive Branch.

The 3rd Commando Brigade is one of the 12 infantry brigades designated as commando in Turkish Land Forces. It's under the 7th Corps and is headquartered at Siirt. The unit was involved in the Operation Olive Branch (2018) in Syria and is actively involved in the Kurdish–-Turkish conflict. It was professionalized in 2010.

2nd Commando Brigade (Turkey) Commando brigade in Turkish Land Forces

The 2nd Commando Brigade is one of the 12 brigades designated commando in Turkish Land Forces. It's under the 4th Corps and is headquartered at Bolu. The unit was involved in the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Part of the brigade is currently based on Hatay Province, to support a potential Turkish military operation in Syria.

The 4th Mechanised Infantry Brigade is a brigade of the Turkish Army based in the Marmara Region at the town of Keşan in Edirne Province. It is part of the Army's 2nd Corps based at Gelibolu in Çanakkale Province, in the General Fevzi Mengüç Barracks, and is in charge of monitoring the Greek border.
