AKC Blauw-Wit (Amsterdamse Korfbal Club Blauw-Wit) is a Dutch korfball club located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The club was founded on 6 December 1916 under the name of GOKC (Geheel Onthouders Korfbal Club) [2] and they play their home games in the Blauw-Wit Hal. The team plays in white/blue horizontally striped shirts and black shorts / skirts.

History

Since the existence of the Korfbal League Blauw-Wit has been represented in the top division. Blauw-Wit reached the play-off stages 5 times in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017 but only in 2017 they reached to the final. [3] [4] Blauw-Wit is the only club from the capital to play in the highest korfball division.

The Korfbal League is the highest echelon of korfball in the Netherlands. The league was founded in 2005 as the new highest level in Dutch korfball. Before that the top level was split in two divisions. Since the start of the competition the format has been the same. The winner of the Korfbal League qualifies for the IKF Europa Korfball Cup while the number 10 relegated to the Hoofdklasse (korfball). The number 9 will compete with the loser of the Hoofdklasse final in a play-off for a position in the Korfbal League.

The Royal Dutch Korfball Association is the governing body of korfball in the Netherlands. It organises the main Dutch korfball leagues and the more recreative leagues, and the Dutch national team.

The 2015–16 Korfbal League season is the 10th season of the Korfbal League since its establishment in 2005. PKC are the defending champions. At the end of the season Dalto relegated direct. AW.DTV went to the play-off to stay in.

PKC is a Dutch korfball club located in Papendrecht, Netherlands. The club was founded on 2 February 1935 and they play their home games in the PKC-Hal. The team plays in white shirts and green shorts / skirts. The club has around 1000 members, which makes it the biggest korfball club in the world.

Koog Zaandijk or in common language KZ is a Dutch korfball club located in Koog aan de Zaan, Netherlands. The club was founded on 20 May 1910 as TAVENU, but was already in some month changed to Koog Zaandijk. They play their home games in sports accommodation De Sprong. AW.DTV is a Dutch korfball club located in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is a fusion club between AW and DTV. The founding date of 1 November 1902 of the oldest of the two clubs (DTV) is used as official founding date. The club plays their home games in sports accommodation Gaasperdam. The team plays in red shirts and black shorts / skirts.

The 2015–16 Korfbal League & Hoofdklasse promotion/relegation play-off was played between AW.DTV and TOP. The first match in the play-off was played at the home accommodation of AW.DTV called Gaasperdam. After a 13-10 half-time score the home team won 24-21.

Wim Scholtmeijer (1982) is a former Dutch Korfball player and former Dutch National Team Coach. Since 2020 has been the headcoach of PKC. As a player Scholtmeijer won four Dutch national championships and two European championships. As the Dutch national team headcoach he won six gold medals.

Sportvereniging Oranje Wit is a sports club from Dordrecht, Netherlands. It has sections for pool, tennis and association football. Its first male squad plays in the Saturday Eerste klasse since 2014. Home ground is Sportcomplex Stadpolders.
