A Sectioned Beam is Lansing-Dreiden's follow up extended play (EP) to their debut album, The Incomplete Triangle . It was released by Kemado Records on November 16, 2004, [1] and was reissued on vinyl by Kemado imprint Mexican Summer in 2013. [2]

Adrienne Day of Spin described the EP's music as ranging in styles from "dreamy space rock to sticky drum-machine retro-pop, with a psychedelic twist." [7] Pitchfork Media's David Moore wrote that A Sectioned Beam is "all smoke and mirrors, occasionally pretty but largely forgettable", and that the group "overextends itself at the expense of its music, which has arguably never sounded thinner or less cohesive." [5] James Christopher Monger of Allmusic said the EP "further cements the group as early-'90s Brit-pop revivalists posing as obtuse art-crowd misanthropes." Monger added that the collective's "impeccably executed pop songs are far less pretentious than their crippled social persona would suggest." [3] Entertainment Weekly writer Suzanne Ely remarked that Lansing-Dreiden "deliver a heady mix built around ambitious Pet Sounds-style orchestrations" on this EP. [8]
Reviewing the 2013 reissue, Pitchfork's Miles Raymer suggested that A Sectioned Beam "evokes both new wave and the Madchester sound, which at the time struck some critics as outre but after years of chillwave acts doing a similar thing it seems strange to think of as out of the ordinary." [2]

The Incomplete Triangle is the debut album by Lansing-Dreiden. It was released on April 6, 2004. It is a mix of various genres, divided into three parts of 4 songs each. The first section of the album is the most rock-based, touching on garage rock and proto-punk among other styles. The middle section slows down the music a little with dream pop, ambient, post-punk and Britpop. The third and final section brings the energy back with late 80s/early 90s style synthpop.

Mexican Summer is an independent record label founded in 2009 by Keith Abrahamsson and Andres Santo Domingo. Based in Brooklyn, New York, the label has released recordings from artists including Best Coast, Kurt Vile, Ariel Pink, Allah-Las, Weyes Blood, Connan Mockasin, Jessica Pratt, and Cate Le Bon. Heart Ache/Dethroned is a double EP release by the Welsh band Jesu. Released on 16 November 2010 through Hydra Head Records, it combines the band's out-of-print, debut 2004 EP Heart Ache with a previously unreleased EP titled Dethroned. Jesu founder, Justin Broadrick, began working on Dethroned around the same time as Heart Ache in 2004, but it was not completed until 2010. Broadrick said the release of Dethroned took so long because he didn't want it to be a stand-alone EP and was waiting for the right album with which to combine it. Broadrick chose a reissue of Heart Ache to pair with Dethroned because they were written around the same period and contained similarities to his previous band, Godflesh. He said, "Both Heart Ache and Dethroned, for me, contain a huge amount of Godflesh to some extent, it's that period when the ghost of Godflesh still somewhat influenced the Jesu sound and songwriting."
Forever Becoming is the fifth studio album by American post-metal band Pelican. The album was released on October 15, 2013 through Southern Lord Records. Forever Becoming marks Pelican's first release to not include founding guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebec.
