A Thousand Forests is a 2024 Philippine coming-of-age musical film written by Jeff Ocampo and directed by Hanz Florentino. It stars Ramjean Entera, Venice Angela Bismonte, James Mavie Estrella, Dennah Bautista and Santino Juan Santiago. The film is about Five teenagers join the Philippine Forest Camp for a chance to travel the world. This film is phase one of the “A Thousand Forests” program, a multi-sectorial nationwide initiative aimed at enhancing collaborative greening programs, designed by the University of the Philippines Los Baños - College of Forestry and Natural Resources. [8]

It is based on real events and inspired by a Filipino environmentalist and philanthropist Gina Lopez. [9]

The film was premiered at SM North EDSA on June 25, 2024, and release on June 26, 2024, under I.Syoot Multimedia Production. [10] [11] [12] [13]

In the same year, the film is included in the QCinema International Film Festival 2024 as an entry. [14]

Critical response

Goldwin Reviews gave the film a rating of 2 out of 5 rating and wrote: The story provides little tension towards a problem that requires urgency. The film is more entertaining than alarming. The spoonfeeding of information didn’t help in amplifying the cry for call to action. [15]

John Tawasil of Society of Filipino Film Reviewers gave the film a review rating of 2.5 over 5 and he said: It's fairly entertaining and at least decently made for a film seemingly catered to a younger audience and the songs are nice, though the script doesn't always work. [16]

Film Circle Reject gave the film a rating of 2 over 5 rating and wrote: I support the film's advocacy of taking care of our environment before it's too late. However, as a film, it does have its flaws. [17]

Zaijian Godsick Lara Jaranilla is a Filipino actor and dancer who is best known for his role as the orphan Santino in May Bukas Pa, a 2009–2010; 2013 religious-themed teleserye based on and Philippine adaptation of 1955 Spanish movie Miracle of Marcelino and a revival of the 2000–2001 series of the same name. Zaijian was also a cast member in the children's sketch comedy show Goin' Bulilit. He portrayed "Ding", the brother of the iconic Filipino superhero Darna in the TV series of the same name under ABS-CBN from August 15, 2022, to February 10, 2023.

Wansapanataym, also known as Wansapanataym Presents, is a Philippine television drama fantasy anthology series broadcast by ABS-CBN. It aired from June 22, 1997 to February 27, 2005, replacing The Sharon Cuneta Show. The ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center in Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines is the headquarters of the Philippine media conglomerate ABS-CBN Corporation and the former television network of the same name. It houses the media conglomerate's and former network's divisions such as ABS-CBN News, ABS-CBN Studios and subsidiaries, broadcast facilities, offices, and ELJ Communications Center. It is also where the transmitter site of ALLTV is situated which was previously used by ABS-CBN before it became inactive due to the 2020 broadcast franchise renewal dispute with ownership of the transmitter and the land where it stands remain with the network. The Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center is the newer and larger studio and office building of ABS-CBN located within ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center in Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines. The building occupies ten thousand (10,000) square meters of land area within the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center and houses the network's offices, a studios, a three-level basement parking, a roof deck helipad, a film archive, a studio gallery, an exclusive executive dining restaurant, and garden. The building has a gross floor area of 101,608.32 square meters; almost seventy thousand (70,000) square meters of office space and over thirty thousand (30,000) square meters of parking space. The construction of the building, which costed 6 billion pesos, began in 1995, but was delayed due to the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997. It was opened in 2000, and was occupied gradually by the network in the following years, expanding the area of its business operations. It is a PEZA Special Economic Zone, designated as an IT center. It is named in honor of the late Eugenio Lopez Jr., the chairman emeritus of ABS-CBN. The dedication of the building was held on November 4, 2010, in a ceremony that was attended by the then-Philippine President Benigno Aquino III. I Am Not Big Bird is a 2024 Philippine sex comedy film directed by Victor Villanueva from a story and screenplay written by Lilit Reyes and Joma Libayen. It stars Enrique Gil, Pepe Herrera, Nikko Natividad, and Red Ollero. The film follows a man, whose engagement was turned down by his girlfriend, who decides to make a new chapter in Thailand but when he and his group of friends arrive in the country, he is mistaken for a well-known porn actor.
