Aadhi Haqeeqat, Aadha Fasana (English title - Children of the Silver Screen) is a 1990 Hindi/English language Documentary Feature film directed by Dilip Ghosh and produced by Ravi Malik in association with the National Film Development Corporation of India.[ citation needed ]
While working in advertising, Dilip Ghosh had the opportunity to work with many child actors. He had observed them closely and was inspired to tell their story. This was expressed through his docu-feature film titled Children of the Silver Screen (Hindi: Aadhi Haqeeqat Aadha Fasana). It was a unique exploration into the world of professional child actors. Children of the Silver Screen captures the price child stars pay for glory. This effort fetched him many honors and much recognition both national and international: including the National Film Award [Special Mention] and the Special Jury Prize at Cairo International Children Film Festival. The film was showcased in over 25 International Film Festivals. [1]

In 1990, Children of the Silver Screen won the 38th National Film Award – Special Jury Award /Special Mention (Non-Feature Film). It also won the Jury prize at the second international film festival for children's films held in 1991 at Cairo. [2]

Kishan Shrikanth, professionally known as Kishan SS or Master Kishan, is a film actor and director from Bangalore, Karnataka. As of January 2006, having acted in 24 films and in many popular Indian soap opera, he directed a feature film, C/o Footpath, about an orphaned boy who wants to go to school. The film is adapted from a short story written by himself, and the cast includes prominent Indian actors Jackie Shroff, Saurabh Shukla, B. Jayashree, Sudeep and Tara. Kishan himself plays the lead. The film has been dubbed into five major Indian languages and it has also been released in English. It was first shot in Kannada and the original version was released on 26 November 2006.

Tapan Sinha was one of the most prominent Indian film directors of his time forming a legendary quartet with Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak and Mrinal Sen. He was primarily a Bengali filmmaker who worked both in Hindi cinema and Bengali cinema, directing films like Kabuliwala (1957), Louha-Kapat, Sagina Mahato (1970), Apanjan (1968), Kshudhita Pashan and children's film Safed Haathi (1978) and Aaj Ka Robinhood. Sinha started his career in 1946, as a sound engineer with New Theatres film production house in Kolkata, then in 1950 left for England where he worked at Pinewood Studios for next two years, before returning home to start his six decade long career in Indian cinema, making films in Bengali, Hindi and Oriya languages, straddling genres from social realism, family drama, labor rights, to children's fantasy films. He was one of the acclaimed filmmakers of Parallel Cinema movement of India.

Prem Prakash Modi is an Indian filmmaker, writer, producer and actor known for his works in Hindi & Bengali cinema.
