Plot
A wealthy and independent industrialist, Jai Kishan befriends a young man from a middle-class background by the name of Munish Mehra (Dharmendra), assists him financially to go abroad and get necessary qualifications as an engineer, and then hires him on one of his construction projects. Meena Khanna (Saira Banu) is the daughter of a government official. Munish and Meena meet and fall in love with each other. Jai also gets attracted towards Meena. Shortly after this, Jai finds out that Munish is in love with Meena, and gets enraged. He subsequently fires Munish, and ensures that he will not get hired anywhere else. After several vain attempts to obtain employment, Munish gets hired by the government, and is assigned to investigate the collapse of a railway bridge. Munish finds out that Jai was directly responsible for this mishap as he used sub-standard materials. Munish now has the tools to take revenge from Jai and destroy him, and accordingly informs his employer. But when the time comes for Munish to make a full report, he declines, and the government has no alternative but to prosecute him in a court of law for taking bribes and destroying his report. And the main witness appearing against him is none other than Jai.
Mumtaz Askari Madhvani is an Indian actress who worked in Hindi films. Regarded as one of finest actresses of Hindi cinema, Mumtaz is the recipient of two Filmfare Award. Mumtaz made her acting debut at age 11 with Sone Ki Chidiya (1958), and did smaller roles in films like Stree (1961) and Sehra (1963).

Waqt is a 1965 Indian Hindi-language Bollywood masala film directed by Yash Chopra, produced by B. R. Chopra and written by Akhtar Mirza and Akhtar-Ul-Iman. It was included in the British Film Institute's long list of films in consideration for its top ten of Indian films award. Released in India on 28 July 1965, the film stars an ensemble cast of Sunil Dutt, Raaj Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Sadhana Shivdasani, Sharmila Tagore, Balraj Sahni, Achala Sachdev, Rehman and Madan Puri. It pioneered the concept of Hindi films with ensemble casts.

Ishq Par Zor Nahin is a 1970 Hindi romantic movie produced by Suresh Saigal and directed by Ramesh Saigal. The film stars Dharmendra, Sadhana, Biswajeet, Kamini Kaushal, Leela Mishra, Abhi Bhattacharya, Jagdeep, Nadira and Helen. The film's music is by S. D. Burman. This is the only film in which Biswajeet and Sadhana worked together. Similarly, this is the only movie in which Dharmendra and Sadhana worked together. The songs "Ye Dil Diwana Hai", "Mehbooba, Teri Tasveer", "Tum Mujhse Door Chale Jana Na" and "O, Mere Bairagi Bhanwara" were composed by S.D. Burman. The story of the film is similar to Yash Chopra's 1969 classic Aadmi Aur Insaan.

The film's music is by Ravi, while the lyrics were penned by Sahir Ludhianvi. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.

Shaheed was the first of Manoj Kumar's series of patriotic films, followed by the likes of Upkar (1967), Purab Aur Paschim (1970), and Kranti (1981).
