Abdul Ghani Salleh (born 10 May 1958) is a Malaysian civil servant who served as Chairman of the Election Commission of Malaysia since 21 August 2020. Prior to that, he was the Secretary of the Election Commission of Malaysia. [1] [2]

Abdul Ghani graduated with a bachelor's degree (Hons) in Management and Marketing from the National University of Malaysia. [3]

Career

Abdul Ghani once served as Chairman of the Kuala Langat District Council. In addition to that, he was once appointed as Director of the Corporate Planning and Community Development Department, Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) and Gombak District Officer, Selangor. He was appointed as Chairman of the Election Commission of Malaysia and replaced Datuk Azhar Azizan Harun who was appointed as Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat on 13 July 2020.
