Abdulquawiy Abdulganiyu Olododo is a Nigerian politician, entrepreneur, and engineer [1] [2] who had served Kwara State in Nigeria as the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, [3] and the acting Commissioner for Works and Transport since 2023. [4] Olododo is from Ilorin East, Ilorin, and graduated from Kwara State University. [5]

Career

Olododo was the General Manager of the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) between July 2022 to August 2023. [5] He was the Technical Assistant on Agriculture to the Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq between 2020 to 2022. [6] [7] [8] [9] In 2023, he was the Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development and the Supervising Commissioner for Works and Transport in Kwara State, Nigeria. [10] [11] [12]

Commissioner for Works and Transport, Kwara State

Early 2024, Abdulquawiy Olododo was appointed as the Commissioner for Works and Transport in Kwara State by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. [13] This appointment followed a cabinet reshuffle where Olododo, who had been serving as the Commissioner for Solid Minerals, took on the role of Commissioner for Works and Transport. [14] Prior to this, he had held the Works and Transport portfolio in an acting capacity while simultaneously overseeing the Ministry of Solid Minerals. [10] [4]

He was also the first lawyer from the Northern part of Nigeria. He was President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange from 2000 - 2003 and Vice-President of the Nigerian Stock Exchange from 1983 - 2000.

The 2019 Kwara State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019. APC's AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq polled 73.12% of the total votes, ahead of PDP's Razak Atunwa who got 25.31% of votes trailing behind by a margin of 216,792 votes, and several minor party candidates. APC won in all 16 LGAs of the state.
