Adamu Abu Kasim is a Nigerian botanist and professor of science. [1] He was appointed as vice chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University,Lapai by Abubakar Sani Bello,assumed office in December 2019. [2] [3] [4]
Adamu Abu Kasim was born in Dukku,in Rijau,Niger State. He had his early school in 1980 attending Central Primary School Dukku,after which he obtained his secondary education in 1985 to 1987 from the Government Science College. Kagara. He then proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University,Zaria through the Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination known as (IJMB) and in 1989 he gained a Bachelor of Science in botany from the same Ahmadu Bello University graduating with a second class. He also holds a M.Sc. of Botany and PhD of crop breeding in Ahmadu Bello University,he then obtained a Certificate in Tissue Biotechnology in 1995 from the University of Nigeria,Nsukka. [6]

In May 2015, he presented a paper entitled: “The mining of Nigerian medicinal plants for cancer therapy” in Abuja at the induction of Fellows of the Nigeria Academy of Science where he stated the predictions of the International Agency for Research on Cancer that annual global new cases of cancers are expected to rise from 11 million to 16 million by 2020, with 70 per cent of them coming from developing countries.
Abdullahi Mustaphapronunciation is a Nigerian Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He was succeeded by Ibrahim Garba as the VC of the University.
