The Bangladesh Navy is the naval warfare branch of the Bangladesh Armed Forces,responsible for Bangladesh's 118,813 square kilometres (45,874 sq mi) of maritime territorial area,and the defence of important harbours,military bases and economic zones. The primary role of the Bangladesh Navy is to protect the country's economic and military interests at home and abroad. The Bangladesh navy is also a front line disaster management force in Bangladesh,and participates in humanitarian missions abroad. It is a key regional player in counter terrorism efforts,and engages in global peacekeeping with the United Nations.

Mohammad Nizamuddin Ahmed was an admiral in the Bangladesh Navy and the former Chief of Naval Staff. He previously served as the Director of Coast Guard Operations and commander of Chittagong Naval Command (COMCHIT). He also served in Naval Headquarters as Director of Personnel Services and Secretary to the Chief of Naval Staff. Inter Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) announced Ahmed's nomination to succeed Admiral Farid Habib. Ahmed began serving as the 15th Chief of Naval Staff on 27 January 2016.

Rear Admiral Mohammad Moyeenul Haque is a two-star admiral in Bangladesh Navy who is incumbent Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Material) ACNS(M). Prior to join at the current position he was Senior Directing Staff - SDS (Navy) at National Defence College. He took over the command of Commodore Superintendent Dockyard on 23 February 2017. Previously he was the General Manager (Production) at Khulna Shipyard.

Prior to join here,he served as Commander,Chattogram Naval Area. Before that,he was High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the Republic of Maldives. He also served as the commander of Bangladesh Navy Fleet. Before that,he was Director of Naval Operations and Director of Naval Intelligence at Naval Headquarters.
Rear Admiral Mohammad Mozammel Haque OSP,NUP,ndc,psc is a retired two-star admiral in Bangladesh Navy who served as the Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Personnel). Prior to join here,he was Commander of Chattogram Naval Area (COMCHIT). Prior to assumption of the Commander Chattogram Naval Area on 4th February 2020,he served as Chairman of Mongla Port Authority.
Khondkar Misbah-ul-Azim NPP,ndu,afwc,psc is a two star Admiral of Bangladesh Navy and the incumbent Commander of Dhaka Naval Area (COMDHAKA). Prior to joining the navy,he served as the Commander Submarine (COMSUB). In addition,he served as the Director of Directorate of Naval Operations,Naval Headquarters,Dhaka.
Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail (TAS),NUP,PPM,psc,BN is a two-star admiral in Bangladesh Navy who is currently serving as Chairman of Chattogram Port Authority. Prior to join here he was Chairman of Payra Port Authority. Before that,he was serving as the Director of Submarine at the Navy Headquarters. He also served as Director of Naval Intelligence and commanded BNS Haji Mohshin while he was Commodore.
Rear Admiral Mir Ershad Ali,OSP,NPP,ndc,psc,BN is a two-star admiral in Bangladesh Navy. He is the incumbent Chairman of Mongla Port Authority. Prior to this appointment,he was Commander of Bangladesh Navy Fleet. Before that he was appointed as Director of Naval Intelligence (DNI) at Naval Headquarters. He elevated to the Rear Admiral rank from Commodore on 25 January 2022.
