Abubakar Amuda-kannike is a Nigerian politician from Kwara State,Nigeria. He represented the Ilorin East/Ilorin South constituency as a member of the House of Representatives,National Assembly,from 2015 to 2019. [1] He also served as a Commissioner for Works and Transport in Kwara State. [2]

As of the 2006 census,it had a population of 777,667,making it the 7th largest city by population in Nigeria.

University of Ilorin (UNILORIN),is a federal government-owned public research university in Ilorin,Kwara State,Nigeria. The university's main campus sits on an expansive area of land,about 15,000 hectares in the ancient city of Ilorin;making it the largest university in Nigeria and one of the largest in Africa by landmass. The university comprises 16 faculties and over 100 academic departments offering 103 programmes. It was established by a decree of the Federal Military Government of Nigeria in August,1975. The University of Ilorin has the highest enrollment of foreign students in Nigeria. The establishment aimed to implement one of the educational directives of the Third National Development Plan,which was aimed at providing more opportunities for Nigerians aspiring to acquire university education and to generate high-level manpower,which is vital for the rapidly expanding economy. It is reported by Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) to be the most sought-after Nigerian university in 2021. Mohammed Alabi Lawal;January 24,1946 –November 15,2006) was a Nigerian naval officer who was military governor of Ogun State between December 1987 and August 1990 during the military administration of General Ibrahim Babangida. He was one of the pioneers of the Nigeria Navy Secondary School Abeokuta.The then Navy Captain Mohammed Lawal,invited the Nigerian Navy to consider a location of the defunct St Leo's Teachers' Training College at Ibara Abeokuta (www.nnssab.net)on a hilly Onikolobo site. This premises had been abandoned and merely serve as a route to the Catholic Compound and was also used for administering a newly conceived secondary school in that name. The Nigerian Navy considered the site and found it suitable. After the return to democracy in 1999 he was elected governor of Kwara State,holding office from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2003.
