The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, library was established in August 1980 and it currently supplies 71,415 books, references, journals and dissertation to staffs and students of the University.[ citation needed ]
The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Library was established in August 1980 with the main objectives to provide strong supports for both teaching /learning process and research. As a citadel of learning, the Library provides Student populace, lecturers and research scholars free and timely access to the most current information and publications in various subject disciplines/field of study. The old building converted from female hostel was moved to a bigger building in 1985 which was launched in November 1990 during the university's first convocation ceremony, during the launch, there were 25,000 volumes of books and 25 personal computers in the library. In 2015, 45 additional wireless desktops were added to the digital section of the library.[ citation needed ]
The library is made up of the librarian office, Technical services with the reader's service division been the largest.[ citation needed ] There is E-library within the main library, other courses and programmes also have their library within the premises of the institution. [1] [2] [3] In 2021, National Insurance Commission donated an E-library with 50 people capacity to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University to promote knowledge acquisition and research work. [4]
Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa was a Nigerian politician who served as the first and only prime minister of Nigeria upon independence. A conservative Anglophile, he favoured maintaining close ties with the British. During his first few years in office as prime minister, Nigeria was a constitutional monarchy with Elizabeth II reigning as Queen of Nigeria, until Nigeria became a republic in 1963. He was both a defender of Northern special interests and an advocate of Nigerian reform and unity.

Barewa College is a college in Zaria, Kaduna State, northern Nigeria. Founded in 1921 by British governor general Hugh Clifford, it was originally known as Katsina College. It switched its name to Kaduna College in 1938 and to Government College, Zaria in 1949 before settling on Barewa College. It is one of the largest boarding schools in Northern Nigeria and was the most-celebrated post-primary schools there up to the early 1960s. The school is known for the large number of elites from the region who attended and counts among its alumni include Tafawa Balewa who was Prime Minister of Nigeria from 1960 to 1966, four heads of state of Nigeria. The school is located along Gaskiya road in the Tukur -Tukur area of Zaria.

A collective collection, shared collection, collaborative collection, or shared print program is a joint effort by multiple academic or research libraries to house, manage, and provide access to their collective physical collections. Most shared print programs focus on collections of monographs and/or serials. Similar efforts have addressed acquisition and/or retention of microform, federal government documents, and digital collections. Shared print programs often have activities in common with national repositories and archiving programs. Discussions surrounding shared print programs in their current form have come to the forefront as a popular solution to shrinking collection budgets, rising costs of resources, and competing space needs.
The 2023 Bauchi State gubernatorial election took place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Bauchi State, concurrent with elections to the Bauchi State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—was held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent PDP Governor Bala Mohammed initially declined to run for re-election, instead running for president. However, after losing the PDP presidential primary in May 2022, Mohammed was renominated in a rerun primary. Mohammed was re-elected as governor by a 9% margin over first runner-up and APC nominee — former Chief of the Air Staff Sadique Abubakar.
