Acoustic Station is Pakistan's first music web series [1] that produces live music performed in a studio featuring new and established artists. [2] [3] A concept of Kashan Admani, Acoustic Station focuses on introducing the sound of acoustic ensemble recorded live in a studio.

Format

The concept of the show was created by founder and producer Kashan Admani. [4] The web series features new and cover songs with unplugged arrangements having jazz influences. Each episode is released on Wednesday on digital mediums and features a unique artist with a different set of band. In an interview with The News International , Kashan Admani said that the show focuses on bringing new talent to the limelight through unplugged music. He explained that they did not associate with a brand because it is good for the music scene. [5]

Launch

Season 1 was launched in Karachi [6] in Dream Station Productions. [7] [8] [9] In the launch [10] ceremony, producer Kashan Admani [11] shared the idea behind the show and how he expects it to introduce the audience to new instruments and unplugged sounds.[ citation needed ]

Season 1

Acoustic Station Season 1 was opened by the band Kashmir with their song "Soch". [12] [13] There are a total of 14 episodes in this season. In the second episode, Maha Ali Kazmi appeared and sang a cover of the Kashmiri song "Sahibo". [14] [15] The third episode featured Latif Ali Khan who performed a Saraiki song titled "Lolak". [16] The fourth episode featured Nida Hussain with the original song "Jee Loon". [17] The fifth episode featured Hamza Akram Qawwal [18] with "Karde Karam". The sixth episode featured a new band named Rusted Rose with their original song "Cut Me". The seventh episode featured Zeeshan Ali with Shallum Asher Xavier for a Punjabi track titled "Sukh". In the eighth episode, Chand Taara Orchestra paid a tribute to Ghalib with a cover of his ghazal "Andaaz-e-Guftugoo". The ninth episode featured the band Tamaasha with the original song "Faaslay". The tenth episode of the show was headlined by Muhammad Zubair with the original ghazal "Maloom Hai", composed and produced by Kashan Admani. The eleventh episode saw Natasha Baig with a rendition of "Dur Ze Darya" featuring Kashan Admani on guitar, Remesha Janjua on backing vocals, along with others. Hamza Akram Qawwal returned to Acoustic Station in the 12th episode, becoming the only artist to appear twice in the show, with a rendition of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's "Chain Na Aaway". Latif Ali Khan reappeared in the 13th episode and covered Ustad Nusraf Fateh Ali Khan's "Chain Na Aaway".

Coke Studio Pakistan is a Pakistani television programme and a part of the international music franchise, Coke Studio, which features studio-recorded music performances by established and emerging artists. It is the longest-running annual television music show in Pakistan, airing annually since 2008. The programme's concept originated in Brazil and has subsequently expanded its reach worldwide.

Shuja Haider or Shuja Hyder is a Pakistani singer, songwriter, composer, and record producer. Haider is best known as a playback singer for films Khuda Kay Liye (2007) and Bol (2011) and more recently for his work on Coke Studio, Pakistan. Haider served as music director for Lux Style Awards for two years. He has produced over 50 albums in his career and is considered one of the most established music producers in Pakistan today.

"Afreen Afreen" is a nazm (song) performed and composed by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan with lyrics written by Javed Akhtar. It first featured on their collaborative album Sangam in 1996. In 2016, it was covered by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Momina Mustehsan during season 9 of Coke Studio.

<i>Pepsi Battle of the Bands</i> Pakistani musical television series

Pepsi Battle of the Bands is a Pakistani television series, originally based on the concept of Battle of the Bands, first aired in 2002 on PTV Home. The show was revived in 2017.

Kashmir is an alternative rock band from Karachi, Pakistan. It is the winning band of Pepsi Battle of the Bands Season 2 in 2017. Formed in 2012, the band played for various shows across the country prior to PBOB. The band consists of Bilal Ali (Vocalist), Vais Khan, Usman Siddiqui, Shane J. Anthoney (drummer), Zair Zaki, and Ali Raza (keyboardist). The band has won Rs. 5 million, a music album contract, concerts across Pakistan and lifetime royalties on their music from the Battle of the Bands competition leaving the Badnaam Band as a runner-up. Kashmir Band won the Lux Style Award for Best Emerging Talent (Music) 2017 for their song "Kaaghaz Ka Jahaaz".

Natasha Baig, also spelled Nata-sha Baig is a Pakistani singer-songwriter from Hunza Valley. She sings in various genres including Sufi rock and had her latest hit with the Burushaski language song "Ya Maula" in collaboration with the designer Yousuf B. Qureshi.

Farhad Humayun was a Pakistani singer, drummer, record producer and video artist. He was popularly associated with the Pakistani drum jam band Overload which he founded in 2003. Farhad started his career as underground musician and formed two bands Co-Ven and Mindriot as a drummer. He worked with artists such as Atif Aslam, Symt, Maha Ali Kazmi and Meesha Shafi. Humayun received many awards and accolades for his work. He was also the owner of Riot Studios, a recording studio and music performance venue in Lahore.

"We Are One" is a global collaboration song produced by Kashan Admani in Dream Station Productions. The song features 40 musicians from seven countries, with the goal of extending a message of hope during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.

The Kashmir Premier League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league organized by Pakistan Cricket Board in Azad Kashmir. The league was founded in 2021. It consists of seven franchises; six teams representing major cities in Kashmir, while one team is representing the Kashmiri diaspora. Each team plays the group stage matches in a single round-robin tournament with the top four teams qualifying for the playoffs and ultimately for the final. The movie stars Adnan Siddiqui, Zhalay Sarhadi, Naveen Waqar, and Osama Tahir in lead roles. The film is inspired by the works of Quentin Tarantino. The movie was released on 2 September 2022, after being premiered for the media and film fraternity on 1 September 2022.
