Act. 2 Narcissus is the second extended play by South Korean girl group Gugudan. It was released on February 27, 2017, by Jellyfish Entertainment and distributed by CJ E&M. A music video for the title track "A Girl Like Me", was also released on February 27.

The EP was a commercial success, debuting at number 3 on the Gaon Album Chart.

Background and release

On January 20, 2017, it was reported that Gugudan was set for a February comeback. [1] On February 3, 2017, Jellyfish Entertainment announced that Gugudan would make their first comeback since debut with their second mini-album, on February 28. [2]

On February 15, 2017, Jellyfish Entertainment released a teaser announcing the titles for the mini-album Act. 2 Narcissus and the title track "A Girl Like Me". [3] On February 16, 2017, Jellyfish Entertainment released the comeback schedule and individual teaser images for Mimi, Hana and Nayoung. [4] On February 17, 2017, Jellyfish Entertainment released individual teaser images for Hyeyeon, Mina and Sally. [5] On February 18, 2017, Jellyfish Entertainment released individual teaser images for Sejeong, Soyee and Haebin. [6] On February 19, 2017, a group teaser image and the album cover were revealed. [7]

On February 20, 2017, it was revealed that their label-mate VIXX's Ravi had written one of the album's songs for the group. [8] On February 21, 2017, the album tracklist composed of five songs, as well as the highlight medley were revealed. [9]

On February 24, 2017, Jellyfish Entertainment released the first MV teaser [10] and announced that the release of the album was changed to February 27. [11] A series of performance spoilers of each member showing some dance moves were also released. [12] On February 26, 2017, Jellyfish Entertainment released the second MV teaser which preview a little of the choreography. [13]

Promotion

The music video for the title track "A Girl Like Me", was released on February 27, 2017, in conjunction with the EP. Gugudan held a live showcase on February 28. [14]

Commercial performance

Act. 2 Narcissus debuted at number 3 on Gaon Album Chart on the chart issue dated February 26 – March 4, 2017. [15]

The title track, "A Girl Like Me", debuted at number 38 on the Gaon Digital Chart on the chart issue dated February 26 – March 4, 2017, with 49,829 downloads sold. [16] [17]

Drama is the third extended play by the South Korean girl group Nine Muses. It was released on January 23, 2015, by Star Empire Entertainment, and distributed by KT Music. The title track "Drama" was also released on the same day as its only single. The album marks the first to include members Keumjo and Sojin, who joined the group after Lee Sem, Eunji and Sera's departure. In order to promote the album, the group performed on various Korean music shows.

<i>Whats My Name?</i> (EP) 2017 EP by T-ara

What's My Name? is the ninth extended play by South Korean girl group T-ara. It was released on 14 June 2017, by MBK Entertainment and distributed by Interpark. The EP was released in six versions: a normal edition containing the group songs; an edition of each member with their solo songs; and a digital edition with all the songs, group and solo. A music video for the title track was also released on 14 June. This is the first release since the departure of members Soyeon and Boram and the final release by T-ara under MBK Entertainment. The EP peaked at number four on the Gaon Album Chart. The various versions of the EP have sold over 39,453 physical copies combined as of July 2017.

<i>Happy Moment</i> 2017 studio album by WJSN

Happy Moment is the first studio album by South Korean girl group WJSN. The album was released digitally and physically on June 7, 2017 by Starship Entertainment and distributed by LOEN Entertainment. It contains ten songs, including the promoted single "Happy". For the first time since debut, there is no Chinese version of the lead single available on this album, this is the first surprise album just after four months after the release of From. WJSN.

<i>Square Up</i> 2018 EP by Blackpink

Square Up is the first Korean extended play by South Korean girl group Blackpink. It was released on June 15, 2018 by YG Entertainment. The EP is available in two physical versions and contains four tracks, with "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" released as the lead single. The song peaked at number one in South Korea for three weeks and became the highest-charting song by a female K-pop act in the United States and United Kingdom at the time. The track "Forever Young" was later promoted on Korean music programs and peaked at number two in South Korea.
