Adayalampattu is a locality in the Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu, India, situated within the Poonamallee Tehsil.

It is a suburban neighbourhood, part of the Chennai metropolitan area. It is known for its residential properties and is in proximity to other areas like Vanagaram and Porur. [1]

Potential merger

Despite being in close proximity to Chennai, Adayalampattu suffers from a lack of basic infrastructure. [2] Essential amenities like proper roads, effective drainage systems, and a reliable water supply are missing. The residents of Adayalampattu hope that merging their area with the Greater Chennai Corporation will bring the much-needed infrastructure improvements, making their facilities comparable to other parts of the city.

East West Metro Tunnel is a underwater river tunnel of Kolkata Metro in Kolkata, West Bengal. The river tunnel is constructed underneath Hooghly River. It is the biggest underwater river tunnel of India, which is made for metro rail service. The East West Metro Tunnel length is 10.8 km (6.7 mi) and width is 5.5 metres. Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Nivar was a tropical cyclone which brought severe impacts to portions of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in late November 2020. The eighth depression and fourth named storm of the 2020 North Indian Ocean cyclone season, Nivar originated from a disturbance in the Intertropical Convergence Zone. The disturbance gradually organized and on 23 November, both the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that a tropical depression had formed. On the next day, both agencies upgraded the system to a tropical storm, with the latter assigning it the name Nivar. Nivar made its landfall over north coastal Tamil Nadu between Puducherry and Chennai close to Marakkanam. Overall, Nivar caused $600 million in damages.

Kancheepuram City Municipal Corporation is the civic body that governs the city of Kancheepuram in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
